Shane's stock at Action Challenge II?

Now that Shane has won the U.S. Open, and is officially the best player in the United States, how much will the line go up on him for the Action Challenge II against Earl? If the unofficial line was 7-5 Shane, what could it be now?

Doc

Shane's stock definately goes up. The other question is how far does Earl fall? He had a bad tournament or does Earl stand to benefit from the longer race? I think Earl still has a gear that will present itself at this match, but I think Shane still wins. If I were to roll up all of my vcash on Earl he would have to get 13 games on the wire with race to a hundred.

Respect

I know my grandson ,Shane, well enough, that he realizes he is playing a
legend and one that dominated pool for a decade(or more) and will treat him with the respect he deserves. Every since Shane was a little boy he handled a win or a loss with great dignity, never gloating or complaining. Thats one of the reasons I'm so proud of him.
As always,Shane feels confident he will win but also that it"s an honor to be in the arena with a lgend such as Earl.
Grandpaaaa Gary

i still have my window open.....Earl dosent finish thats a prop bet, there is no line on the match far as I can see, i'm not knocking Earl hell I believe SVB might not like it if it was Earl of 87. I like SVB and Earl and I hope the match does finish.

Gary, pool aside for a minute I would like to congradulate you for raising a fine young man, i have spoke to shane on the phone seveal times and he is great person. I have been a successful businessman and we spoke about business not pool, You have alot to be proud of, his pool game is just iceing on the cake, my sincer thank you and congrats.

fatboy.

With due respect to the living legend Strickland, right now he might need the six from Shane for even action.

I am rooting for Earl on this one but I dont beleive he will win......but I have firm belief he will finish the match.....He will find that missing gear he has been missing......Hell he jsut "MIGHT" pull it off.........all in all its gona be a great match I hope.

That match is several weeks down the road and Shane probably won't be as sharp as he was this week. He's going to have to fade a bunch of distractions now that he's a star. Everything from women wanting to jump his bones to you name it.... autograph this, how about a photo, we want to do an interview, play in my tournamet, make a guest appearance, put on an exhibition, loan me money, old "friends" coming out of the woodwork and so on ad-infinitum.

Hope he has a plan for all this or his practice time, the practice time that got him where he is, will be reduced to nil in no time.

It'll be hard to go back to the solitary life of practicing day after day once he experiences the life of being a rock star. Somebody had better be there to help insulate him from the public.

I dont think I was too far off in my earlier judgements of a line. I dont think an odds line can be determined because lets face it, Shane is consistently playing world class pool for several months now. Earl will have to catch a gear that he hasnt used in quite a while to win. There is no telling how long that gear will last or if it will even kick in. Games on the wire for even money is where I think this match up should be negotiated. Earl getting 30 on the wire will be close to even money in my eyes. Earl will have to play above his head and Shane will need to make a lot of mistakes for Earl to be a threat. Before I get flamed, I like Earl as a legend of the game and a player, but just not in this matchup.

 30 on the wire. Wow. Will this match even happen? I really beleive that if Earl prepares he can make the match closer than that. 15 at the most. In my view Earl is a great groove player. He is bound to ride a high gear at some point in a race that is that long.

At 7-5 odds, that extrapolates to about 28.5 games difference, 30 isnt too far off, and that was at orig odds. He is a great groove player I wont argue that. If he prepares properly he def can make the match closer than that. That is why I think this would make it a true gamble. If you are only getting odds on money then I feel that shane is gonna be stealing all day long. 15 games and you might still get good odds on your money. 30 games is quite a bit of weight, but shane is a very dominating and controlled player. Shane wont have as many ups and downs as earl will. Corey was a seasoned gambler and world class player and look what happened to him. I dont feel that earl will be able to withstand the constant pressure that an opponent like shane will put him thru. I hope that earl does catch a gear but again, how long can he maintain that gear is the real question.

I was about to post a similar thread but saw this one so don't need to. With all the at happened at the Open with Earl going out very early and Shane winning the tournament the line of 7-5 isn't close. Shane is just playing great pool and Earl isn't. I know Earl is cabable but the way Shane is playing I don't see Earl coming close to winning. I guess we'll see. But this is my opinion.

I'm just glad there are many other types of bets besides who will simply win or lose, otherwise, the bets might be one sided, even more so after the US Open win. :D

"With all the at happened at the Open with Earl going out very early and Shane winning the tournament the line of 7-5 isn't close."

I agree. Not close at all. I don't know if odds are the way to go on this match...I'm leaning towards 30-35 on the wire.

There isnt much of anything you could give Earl to make me bet on him. Yeah, Earl is a living legend, but Shane is a legend in the making, he's just not old enough yet.

Maybe Earl dumped the tournament to get a good line. Now that the world is underestimating him, he's got the nuts and he's betting everything he owns.

Rayjay, if you would like to wager that Shane gets to 100 before Earl gets to 65 (35 on the wire), you have a bet. We can PM for the details.
