Shaun Wilkie crying . .....

Anybodywho doesn't do a shot or 3 of jaeger before a match is not living up to their full potential.

Go for it, pool! You'll supplant all footballs soon!

You need much more than 5 players to have real professional pool. Shaun Wilkie is a great player. I knew a couple players that would take Midol before a match. Not sure if it really works, but they say it does.

Most any tournament, at any level of skill, there are 3 of 4 guys who should win. The most talented take the, lions share. Without big payouts you can't survive getting occasional 5th to 8th place payouts like Wilkie.

There is never going to be a major pro pool tour in this country with major sponsors. Its a fringe sport.

I grew up and worked in a pool hall as a kid and wasn't even supposed to be in the place. I was about 12 or 13, when I started, and the legal age was to be 21 to even be in the place, without your parent.

During that era, I saw all kinds of people doing all kinds of stuff to supposedly enhance their game. Some people shot lights out and others lights burned out. One of the best "mixture" players in the world a couple years during the time I worked there happened to be from St. Louis. They named a pool award after him. When he got "right", he didn't miss.

The owner of the pool hall I worked in used to tell me, "I'm going to get a little AIMING OIL" when he got in a close money game with somebody. He would go mix a "Seagram's VO and Coke"...that was his "aiming oil".

Nice, I like it!

Obviously just for hours lol. But here is the wild thing about drugs Jeff...you can take them more than once. Maybe you play really slow and your matches last for years. Mine don't.

My point was that taking speed for years will wear you out years ahead of time and that negatively affects your game more than the drugs positively affected it.

I'm getting old. I did some of that crap when younger. I'm guessing I'm now paying the price.

I'm going to start drug testing at tournaments I run. Not that I've run any lately...

Anybody testing negative will be shown the door.

Here's one u haven't heard yet - what about Chequio ? Don't they advertise as perfor mance enhancing ? Bet you won't hear much about that stuff though as they sponsor players lol.

For hours, yes.

But for years? No.

Slow play em for hours if they are jacked up....if your skill levels are close I like your chances after a few hours. If you opponent chose to speed things up, it's only fair play if you choose to slow things down, if your able.

This guy did a lot more than steroids...But this is the prospects of people showing every conceivable drug into their bodies, long term:

Of course, if you are being supervised by a doctor etc. this may not happen. But your life will be shorter, that's pretty much guaranteed. I know a guy that did a lot of speed. He's in his 50's and has had 2 heart attacks allready, probably caused by his earlier drug use. He no longer uses. His health is like an 80 year old. No stamina. Can't work. Just don't do it. Smoke some weed or whatever, but don't do speed.

thank you for finally revealing how to get my game to the next level.

going down the street corner.

be right back.

You don't need to do that. Just go to the doctor and tell him you have trouble concentrating and find your mind always seems to be focused on 10 different things at once.

Cheaper and safer.

I don't think ANYONE can stand a slow player so just make sure you win the first set otherwise they may just quit ya winners after one set.

There are plenty of champs, who if they didn't take their meds, would drop down from world class consistency, to shortstop speed.
They would still play great. They just wouldn't play "perfect"

Is that true? World Class to Shortstop?
If that's true then no wonder they are doing it.

True, but in the long run doing business with an addict of this type reveals vulnerable predictable behavior. In a workable way, you can eventually use that against them if its an important grudge or payback match, that's all. Just one of many situations that take place in a PH that often have to be learned before being taught.

Shaun could take all the drugs and he would still be a 2nd tier pro

big difference between 8th and 16th or 16th and 32nd when you're a 2nd tier pro trying to make a living.

do you really think guys aren't, on a regular basis, looking to get the edge and bridge the gap chemically?

what percentage of a typical pro event's field would you classify as 2nd tier pros trying to make a living and not a trophy?

Addicts can't function without their drug which explains why they insist they play better when they are on whatever mixture they are addicted to.

The gunslinger in my old room used to say about a loser:
He took a 9 ball pill when he was gonna play 1p.

No doubt some players use, but that's not why shaun isn't winning major events.

He's an average pro who seems to over estimate his skill level.
