Grey Ghost, it looks like a case here of the pot calling the kettle black.
Looks like all you Cajuns got the same problem.:lmao:

I had a discussion with a person who contended selling a "SHAWN" cue is not the same as selling a fake "SCHON" cue. The person I spoke to has, in my own experience, always been honorable. After I showed him a Bob Weir cue, we had to agree to disagree on this one.

"Let The Buyer Beware Cues" might be the only name acceptable to all, but the saying remains true. If you are somewhat knowledgeable and bargain hunting...if you want to buy that one cue where Evan Clark misspelled his company name...in a different font...with different inlays...then good luck to ya. Some folks believe in miracles like that. I just call Evan and get the facts...but I don't usually knock the seller's action either.

Word to the buyer: After getting yer new SHAWN, why not play that guy in the corner with the newspaper...I hear he is offering anybody 10 to one with three games on the wire.

This is the pool world. Worrying about the ethics of others will keep you up late at night. There may be a sucker born every minute, but there are definitely two hustlers already waiting to rob him. Greyghost is lookin out for us, but at least for me, it isn't the hustler that is the root of the problem, but the greed in me.

Well . . .

I have to admit I owned a Moochie for about ten years and never did remember how to say it or spell it!

I thinking of putting my cuetec on the craig list and sell it for 1000 or maybe 1500.00 . I will list it as a rare Earl Strickland signature cue.

Well thank Gawd I posted my cuetec as a rare allison fisher model.....at least we won't be competing against each other....

I'm sure almost everyone here mispronounces Schön (shern) which means "beautiful" in Deutsch. Schon means "surely" and without the umlaut you're misspelling the cue name.

A Schon with the umlaut should be spelled Schoen with out it. An "e" added indicates the umlaut is missing. Umlaut means raised sound so "Oh, wie Schoen" means "Oh, how nice". And Schon with the umlaut is pronounced Schern. But you have to say the ern with a "raised" sound.

Huh?????????? i think i just dozed off....im having flashbacks of highschool language studies.

The funny part of all the pronunciation discussions on Schon cues is that it is not pronounced how it is spoken in German. Bob Runde and Evan Clarke have always said Shawn. Because that is how it started, and that is how they like it.

Wenn wir eine Lektion in der deutschen Sprache haben, können Sie ich teilnehme.
