Six plus years but I got my Hercek!!!

I got on Joel Hercek's waiting list early spring of 2003. He contacted me April 1, 2008 to tell me he was getting together a new batch and I could be in it. I accepted and a few days later he called to work out details. The cue I had initially wanted to build got cancelled as it was to be a tribute to a boat I owned with lots of ivory and engravings. While waiting to start the process I sold the boat. I wasn't about to give up my spot after waiting 5 years so I had him build me a nice playing cue with 3 shafts (2 are 12.5mm and 1 is 11.5mm). Length is 58" and weight is 8.8 with the bigger shafts and 8.1 with the smaller. It is full splice 4 prong Cocobolo with black, red, orange, and white veneers in a fiddleback maple nose with ivory joint w/ivory, black, red, black trim and matching trim on shafts. Cocabolo butt and ivory buttcap with a pelican on a piling engraved on the cap. Grip is brown/white "Penn" linen wrap.

I haven't hit a ball yet but will as soon as we close today.

Brent (BHQ) is already working on my next cue, It's a gonna be a pretty thang.

Later, Pel

Lucky guy!!!!

That looks like a great cue. It will never lose its value and Joel's cues hit 'em sweet. Congrats.

Nice cue, the points look really sharp and that finish is really something to behold. good luck shooting with it, looks like one H--- of a player.

You can't go wrong with a cue from Joel. Very nice and I love the personal touch of the pelican engraving.

Beautiful cue, enjoy

I've ben on Joel's list since '03 or so I think... Just checked recently and I'm still there!

Looks really great. Joel has totally come into his own. An early cue would be cool, but I think what he is making now is just amazing.

Now I'm even MORE impatient about not having mine yet!

At least you got on the list about when I did so you should be coming up. I have heard that his wait time is up to between 8 and 10 years if you get on today. I found out about Joel when I acquired a Burton Spain and wanted it brought back to original. He did a fantastic job and for a bonus sent me copies of Burton's work orders for the cue. Joel is one heck of a nice guy.

Hope you get yours soon, and thanks to everyone for the nice comments,

Pel

It seems like a long wait, but look at it, it was worth it if it is what you wanted, looks good on here , i hope it plays as good as it looks for you !!! <<<<<<<<< ed

hey

nice cue.....glad you love it

Any wait is worth it for a cue from Joel

Just checked again-

I went on in Feb of '05:(

Probably another year or two for me!

Oh, I know it'll be worth it!

Anyone who thinks otherwise has never held or shot with a Hercek.

Excelent cues, and from the looks of it, getting better every day!

Mine won't be as fancy as this one, mainly because I don't have that kind of bank roll, but it will PLAY, and that is the most important thing to me at least.

OLD SCHOOL baby!
