Sky and Shane Squabble

Guess that's the reason for my ignorance; I don't use Facebook. Thanks for replying!
You have fans of Sky posting in his thread that they think Shane is a such-and-such, and they back Sky 100 percent, and another fan saying he'll take care of Shane, no problem, or words insinuating some horrid thought, which was probably just all bark and no bite. Still, it's kind of sad. I'm hoping they patch it up before the Cup. Sky said some pretty mean-spirited things about Shane, and then some other posters talked about Shane's love life. I mean, WTF!

I have not been privy to what Shane said about Sky to get him so upset. Sky seems like a pretty laid-back kind of guy from what I've witnessed. I like the kid, and I like Shane too.

Beatdown...response.

Fallout Feeling from the +20 racks in a row recent reeling reflex formation resulting in, feeling the forum phlegm of life fishey.

No facebook here as well. I also avoid High School reunions.
I actually was not fond of Facebook at first glance. Almost all the pro pool players are on Facebook, though, and not too many post on AzBilliards.

I was fortunate to hook up with some pool players I know from around the world from when we used to go to tournaments, and I really do enjoy following their pool journeys and exchanging posts and messages. For the most part, the threads on Facebook are fun and lively. The pool news is up to date by the minute too.

Here on AzBilliards Discussion Forum, most of us are railbirds, but there's a wider swath of pool news on Facebook. I still enjoy AzBilliards News Page and read it every morning, just like the newspaper. :-p

I hope you are right. That would be the best of all outcomes for sure.

I kind of wish it wasn't aired out on social media for thousands of pool enthusiasts to read, but on the other hand, it's kind of difficult for one party not to respond to another party's comments when they are derogatory in nature.

About snooker pro Mark Evans and his ex, snooker pro Reanne Evans, they have a child together, and she wants child support, yet he's getting ready to file for bankruptcy, according to the media. There's probably more going on with these two behind the scenes.
JAM. you realize you are continuing and expanding that airing on social media, don't you? Isn't it better to just let it pass without adding to the fire?

Jam, since you do facebook...why not suggest they meet in the parking lot after the big game? :ROFLMAO:

After reading the bit Sky posted via the updates thread, it all sounds like a stupid Harry Highschool thing to me.

The solution seems simple to me. Since these are touted as big money matchups, a set of rules should be agreed on along with the hiring of referee who racks.

Also, if everybody told Mark Zuckerberg to take a hike, the world would be a much better place. Just my opinion...

I actually was wondering what others thought about the squabble. I am not smack-talking or taking sides with one or the other. This hasn't turned into a flame thread—yet. On FB, it's a full-blown flame thread.

My concern has always been about American pool, USA, all the way, as I say over and over again. I am concerned that two of the top American pros we have left in USA are in a squabble like this, and thus, I asked for thoughts.

I knew coming on AzBilliards the thread would soon take an ugly turn and target me. Never fails.

JAM, I'm not trying to start anything here, and certainly not targeting you. Just gently suggesting that although the two players involved decided to air personal differences in a public forum, maybe the best course of action for those of us that are not involved is to just leave it alone. Nothing good ever seems to come from the expansion of these personal disputes by those not directly involved.

I understand you are not taking sides, but the simple act of bringing it up here when nobody else has done so has the effect of expanding the conflict.

Once a private matter is posted to a public forum, it ceases to be private. Welcome to the internet.

I understand that people can involve themselves in a personal dispute once it is public, but that doesn't mean they should.

During the practice session live stream yesterday before the match, Shane was hitting balls and Dennis was talking to him about the Sky match situation and Dennis imo has a reason to be frustrated about it without going into details. The mic picked up Shane and all he said to Dennis was like “Yeah me and him don’t get along ever since I beat him”. Something pretty close to that. Nothing crazy and it was said while Shane was hitting balls and half paying attention to Dennis. I heard it and didn’t think much about it. Seems like it got turned into a bigger deal than it is with SVB and Sky and they’d be fine if they had a conversation instead of social media blasting.

Jeez...no need for that to be posted.

Everybody wants to be the big dog, but you gotta put in the work. Sky may someday be our top player. I think that won't be until SVB is about 45.

Every time I see a pool player squabble, I feel it makes all of us pool players look like idiots. It’s not so much the squabble itself, but rather the way it’s written. As if none of us ever went to grade school and learned how to read and write.
