Gotta love technology!

He's at a local pawn shop and happens across a pool cue/case. So he calls and says " Hey, you ever heard of a oney or olney? something like that? I said well.... yes as a matter of fact I have. shoot a couple of pics with your phone and let's see what you've got.

I told him to NOT LEAVE without the cue in hand. So 99 dollars later he owns a gorgeous cocobolo Olney. I gave him 250 for it and told him that If I actually got rid of it (probably not going to happen after playing with it) after I got my 250 back I'd split what ever was left. Of course he's happy cause he made some quick $$$ with a chance for more. ironically it's almost the exact twin for my SW

BTW I NEVER find deals like that in pawn shops.

Good find.

Every pawn shop I've been in think they have something special when they get something like a Meucci or a McDermott but when a $1,000 dollar cue walks in the door they don't know what they are looking at.

I've been going for years and I never find anything worth buying. But, I have a friend Doug (bullshooter69 here on az) that finds stuff ALL THE FREAKING TIME :D

..

OMG.. I can not belive your brother took advantage of you like that.. Its horrible.. I will gladly give you your 250 back just so you wont loose any money on this deal..

i know... sick huh! can't believe my own brother would do me like that. on a serious note, I didn't want to take advantage of him either. That's why I added the offer to split anything over the 250. He doesn't really play and doesn't know many who do. So other then ebay, he really didn't have an avenue to move it. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to keep it anyway. It really plays nice, which evidently most olney's do (based on the majority of opinions)

Nice Find...I find great deals from time to time..I stop in 2 pawn shops every day on my way home from work...I think my best find is a Eddie Farris that I got for around 300.00 ..it had alot of ivory in it...I had Eddie refinish it...and sold it for almost 1k..i had about 425 in it after all was said and done...good deals to be had at the pawn shop...just gotta be persistant and keep looking

Nice find brother!

Your brother hangs out in funny looking Pawn shops.

Looks more like a bathroom to me.......

You got that right! I have a very similar Olney that is my daily player. Mine has a stacked leather Fanelli wrap and hits awesome! You can expect one of Jeff's cues to be top notch - I bet it is tight to screw together, too! :) GL with it! - John

I bought a nice leather 1x2 case at a pawn shop once for $40. It was a Ron Thomas. When I got home and opened it there was a pristine Schon R1 inside.

Being racked with guilt... I raced back to the Pawn Shop to return the cue and case and pay them for their mistake..............NOT!...
