So where is the Bonus Ball annoucement?

I went to find it. But the history won't let me go back far enough. It was when some of the staff members were being rude in your eyes in their posts. You don't remember getting upset about that?

I think it was before bonus ball even started.

You are correct: I did flip-flip on BB.

I do not want to see BB fail. Of course, I want what is best for professional pool, especially American professional pool. It's circling the drain right now, has been for years. The tournament payouts, as most know, are the same in 2013 as they were in 1973, yet the cost of living has quadrupled.

When attending tournaments in the '70s, gas was 35 cents a gallon. A decent hotel room was about 30 bucks. You could eat a full-course meal at McDonald's -- hamburger, French frieds, and a milkshake -- for less than a dollar. :grin-square:

Professional pool as an industry has not had a cost-of-living raise in its payouts at pool competitions.

Most money today made in pool, if there is any to be made, comes from gambling, one-on-one combat behind closed doors. But you will not read about these profits much on AzBilliards. Some of them remain private and for good reason. The average action player will make more money than a tournament soldier in 2013, mainly because of expenses.

With all of the above said, if Bonus Ball can effect a change for the better, I'm in like Flynn, but my loyalty, if you want to call it that, is to the players themselves. If they ain't getting paid, I think it's something to be concerned about. Been there and done that myself with my experience in the pool world. To illustrate, I told Keith if he didn't come home with his IPT check in Reno, then he better not come home and he could just stay in Reno. When he told me that they informed him at the players meeting that the checks weren't available, I didn't believe him. I thought he gambled his winnings away.

Poor Keith ended up selling his upcoming check, that didn't come until a year later, to another player for 10 percent, so he'd have money in his pocket when he got off the airplane. I didn't find out what he did until a week after he got back that nobody got paid. The IPT soon folded thereafter.

When they get funny with the money, somebody is wrong.

I'm nervous about players not getting paid. I'm a pool stream junkie and I can't have this go away. I bought an Ipad just so I could watch the season on something other than my iphone when I'm not at home.

Thanks for letting my end my search. I need to get some rest.

Believe it or not, we spent about $5,000 on suits and clothes for the IPT. They're now collecting dust in the closet.

I remember what you are referring to.

You really should start going to bed earlier. It will catch up with you if you don't. Sleep, restful, blessful sleep, is very important. :)

Where do you come up with this stuff? Lol

The press release is apparently delayed until tomorrow, as its not worth rushing. In the meantime, sit tight, and enjoy all these wild speculations. :p

Speculations? Are you saying the players HAVE all been paid in full? I'll bet a TON of APPLEs someone is ready to walk and others are gonna follow. That's right, APPLEs by the TON.

Ka-boom! :)

I like APPLEs by the TON.

If the players haven't been getting paid in a timely fashion then that explains why they look like they are at a funeral when Lee is announcing them.

Anybody else got a wicked case of deja vu?

Well, they're also playing bonus ball...

Even a hooker can only pretend she likes you for so long.

There is nothing wrong with speculating-that's what people do.

If you didnt wonder or think and talk about what may be happening 'in your world', that's pretty much the definition of a 'dolt'

I'd say that's a sign that something is not quite right. :shocked2::shocked2:

I truly hope this is a GOOD press release and not a bad one.....patiently awaiting ;)))))))

All i know is that I watched every match of BB this past week and it was fun to watch every match had it's ups and downs. The stream was good and I watched on both Iphone and Ipad with no issues.

The lack of response to the accusation that players have not been paid pretty well cements the answer in our minds. Many of us here understand risk vs. reward and have been wary of this whole ordeal. The problem lies in that so many pool players do not and will now be in an even deeper hole than before they started.

I enjoy the game. A player cant have any holes in his game and expect to succeed in BB.

I hope the news is all good.

Still a few hours left in the weekend for us here in Vegas. Matches finished a couple hours ago. We just ate and are writing it now. I expect it to be sent out tonight, which means most sites will post it in their news in the morning (although it will likely go up on our site later tonight).

Dammit, Princess. You ate yesterday...AND the day before too.

Focus!
