a good friend of mine is very close inline to have a SouthWest cue made. he doesnt play anymore so he is selling his spot. the cue can be designed by you.

if your interest pm me and i'll get you his contact info so you can discuss it

it not my cue for sale. so i dont honestly know what he want to sell his spot for. he mentioned 1000, but i don't know if thats firm or not. i'd have to say with a long list and him being close to getting a cue made to order would draw a good price.

add that to the price of the cue and you're looking at a pretty expensive SW. but i guess that beats waiting 9ish years

A little harsh aren't we?

Let's cut hkwong a little slack here..as he mentioned he is posting for a close friend ....if your interested hkwong will give you contact info to work out the details...Let's not kill the messenger.. I'm sure there's somebody out there that will pay a REASONABLE fee to jump to the front of the 9 year line..Good luck..

A couple questions.

Does anyone know if Laurie Franklin even allows this? If so, how close is the spot? A week, a month, a year?

Tell your friend to knock off a zero and he might get action.

I agree... $100 to 200, I think guys will pay...but a $1000, thats gonna be hard just for a spot... Think about this way, for example, if I call Laurie Franklin and told her that I wanted a couple cues made every year. Then when my cue was about to be made, I started selling my spots for $500 on up. And I continued doing this, just to make a little cash on the side... Doesn't sound right to me... I hope there is no one doing this... LOL... I am not saying he is doing this, but this could give someone an idea to do this...especially if it goes for $1000.... hmmm.... hehe.. j/k.. :D

I think you have to work through the original "owner" of the spot. Many people are letting their spots lapse because they are no longer able to turn the cue for profit, like they used to. In fact, it will probably cost you more to order one, then to buy one (even new) on the used market.

First off thanks for the interested parties. Secondly if ur not interested or just want so say no way he'll get a 1000 go F! Off. Like I said above "he mentioned" I highly doubt this is this firm, however it would be negotiable. He doesn't play anymore, and figures he can sell his spot. All he's doing is seeing what he can get for the spot. Hell he might just let it go.

So if ur serious ab buying the spot pm me otherwise, I don't wanna hear, "no way" "he's crazy"

I dont think that a K is way off. They get them and tack on a K then sell it. so if you wanted the spot...

$1000 is not unreasonable, just over a hundred dollars a year in wait times. Think about the cost of the cue with inflation over 9 years.

At $1000, it could be a steal.

Laurie will not allow this, but you could beat that by having the original person order the cue, have it sent to their home address, then ship it to you, but you need to place a lot of trust in the person you are dealing through. He will have your money for the spot and the cue.
