i finally got the call from laurie at southwest that my number is up after about 10 yrs...not sure what to do wether to go ahead and order a cue or see if there is any intrest in selling my spot so someone else can design the sw of their dreams, i really dont have the intrest in sw cues that i did yrs back...if anyone may be interested in the spot IF i decide to sell it pm me

again...i ve not totally made my mind up yet on what im going to do.

IMHO I would have her build what would Wood/Color COMBO would SELL FAST if you want to flip it, have her build it. When you gt the Cue, play with it, you might want to keep it, if no than sell it for a Profit.

working on answering the 31 pm s ive got so far...im not trying to ignore anyone ....thanks for all the intrest.

I think the cue market is going to get worse and the hype of SW is getting less attention. There are a lot of great cuemakers that i think will take some value from SW cues. Truthfully I would take a Blackcreek over a SW. But im a player more than a collector or flipper. JMO. 31 pm's maybe im wrong.

Cocobolocowboy has the right idea i think thats a really good idea. But i mean 31 pms might give you the incentive to sell your spot too. Either or i think you'll do alright.

Laurie won,t allow you to sell your slot. You would have to order the cue in your name, built to whoever you want to deal it to's specs. They will have to pay you first or you will have to front the money and hope the buyer does not change their mind.

i sent an email to laurie saying that i wanna make a SW cue one year ago. But i never heard any reply. Has she put me on the waiting list?

Unless Laurie decides to change something out of your control. That has happened to several of my friends.

This is not a dig on Laurie at all. I think she is one of the nicest people in this industry. Just a fatc of life that happens sometimes...

Then YOU will be responsible for it...

I think you are better off building an Ebony and BEM wrapless cue with all the bells and whistles. Then sell it off here to the highest bidder. You can NOT lose money this way.

Good Luck,
Chris

the idea that other people can do better ihan south west and the market is falling is not supported by the facts
over 31 people so far are thrilled with the chance to get a new south west cue

still the best after all these years, and getting better all the time

wish I had some cash for the Cue. I'd be willing to Bid on the spot. No question about it.

Well not really. At one time you could buy a Southwest cue for $400-600 and turn it for a considerable profit.

Laurie has decided that she wants that delta and has bumped the price up to near market values.

I am not interested in paying for the "right" to have a cue made, then pay Southwest market value (ie about what you can buy on secondary market).

Im not trying to nit this deal. But I would suggest that if you want a Southwest cue built exactly as you want (well you get to pick woods and veneer and ring choices) and dont want to wait 10 years here might be your chance.

I dont see the ability to make much money on Southwest cues, or for many others lately.

Best of rolls,

Ken

Last I talked to Laurie you were allowed two cues a fancy well ringed cue and a planer cue. I am up on the Southwest list for 2012 and I only wish the one cue. I offered the second cue to a gentleman I worked with in iraq (FOR FREE) he just has to give me the specs when the time comes and the down payment.

I guess it is a free market system and if you sell the spot it is your choice seems kind of mercenary to me but that is me.
