Stan lost. He fought the good fight!

Yes, a good fight, with one of the world's best players.

Stan Shuffett, CTE/Pro One pocket billiard instructor has had a great tournament. I'm so happy for his great tournament results.

What a man! Nothing but class, talent and character.

Stan -

You fought a great fight. I look up to you not only as a player, but as a person. I hope when you settle in and read your thread, you realize there are TONS of us pulling for you (a fellow AZer) and only like, 3, praying against ya. Some of these guys would pull for a total stranger they never met or spoke to in lieu of pulling for someone who aims differently than they do in their own community.

The biggest win of this week is your son and daughter get to wake up tomorrow with their dad finishing in the top 32 of the US OPEN -- beating TOP players to get there.

Congrats, bud-

Dave

Also since some of you are sending emails to pepsi for their sponsorship how about sending Stan one thanking him for being a sponsor of the US Open as well?

Thank you Stan for being a sponsor. Thank you for being a good example of your methods and moreso thank you for showing us all that it's never too late to excel.

I have been inspired.

I agree. Great job, Stan! You made a lot of AZB'ers proud, both with your sponsorship, as well your outstanding play!

I know you wanted a few more wins, but you did GREAT Stan! Great job!:thumbup:(2 thumbs up!)

Congratulations to Mr. Shuffett! What a tremendous achievement.

Looks like all of his had work has paid off. From reading his website it looks like he has been at this a while. He has been instructing for over 30 years -- WOW!

Something tells me it's not just the CTE - Pro One that has gotten him to where he is at. And quite frankly, implying otherwise really sells his accomplishment short. I bet he has not only been teaching solid fundamentals for years but also demonstrating them himself.

Any way you slice it - I'm impressed.

No one is implying that at all. Not one single person who has ever spoken positively about these aiming methods has ever said that using them is all you need to excel. And Stan himself would be the first to say that as well.

The naysayers are always going on about how no one who openly uses these methods ever does well. Then when that is shot down they attack the teachers and say where are your results, how come you don't ever win anything. So here we have one good solid example of an instructor who put his money down and had a great run.

Had he gone two and out then you can bet your house, farm and dog that the naysayers would trumpet that to the hills forevermore.

So if poor performance is allowed to be "evidence" that what Stan teaches is no good then great performance should also be allowed to stand as evidence that what he teaches is very good.

And the primary thing that he teaches is ProOne aiming at the moment with all the other proper fundamentals alongside it.

And now you see....Stan cannot only teach how to play,he can teach how to win also.I know you wish you would have gone farther but so do alot of other great players.I also know your good family Is mighty proud of you.And Me too.Good job,ole man!!!Haha. The Brumbacks,Val,Patrick,John

I never heard of Stan Musial. So am I allowed to call Stan Shuffet "The Man"? Or are the nickname police going to swoop in and arrest me. I bet Stan Lee has been called Stan the Man a few times as well.

It's not just about Stan (the man) though. It's about the inspiration he is providing after all the attacks on him and what he teaches.

It's just NICE to see an instructor who has been attacked so many ways going deep in the open.

The fact is that Stan will probably be the first to say that what he teaches IS a foundation for everything else to come together to perform at a high level.

So he is simply proving that he can eat his own cooking and get fat doing it.

I don't think anyone has ever attacked Stan.

of course the CTE thing
IS totally bogus
but Stan himself is a good guy
no doubt

lol. I wonder, if, somewhere out there in cyber forum land, there is a group of pool ass weight fanatics similar to the yapping CTE pups here:

You HATERS enjoy dirtying up the water wherever you go, just so you can have your day in the sun

Earl Strickland's ass weights are cornerstone of his talent, a great aid that he uses on every shot, and one that he teaches to anyone that will listen to him.

Earl has given back to the pool world more than you or Joey will ever be able to do in your entire lifetimes. Ass weights are likely to become the pool aid of choice for pocket billiard enthusiasts for generations to come.

It's really pathetic of you and Joey to get in this thread and taint the thread with your HATE OF ASS WEIGHTS.

Unfortunately it was impossible for me to watch the PPV.

Is there any way to watch these matches (recorded) after the fact?

You are, unfortunately, wrong. Stan was attacked by you and others. No matter though because he stepped up with actions to defeat every claim you and others made against him.

It's precisely because Stan is a good guy that all the outright attacks and snide remarks don't stick.

What Stan teaches is not bogus at all. By saying it you are again attacking Stan because you are calling Stan a liar or delusional.

Which is it Lou? Is he a "good" guy, and by good I mean a smart and rational human being who plays pool at a sufficiently high level, or is he a delusional snake-oil salesman selling a "bogus" (your words) system?

I know u r probably bitter rite now stan,b ing up 10-8 and losing to Peach, but keep ur head very high STAN ,u did something most of us only dream of,i had no idea you played that speed,i personnally dont do any aiming system (maybe thats why my shot making has only gotten worst over the last 10 years)but to each his own,if u think it helps u then use it,but if u dont like it then dont use it,but nobody has the rite to come on here an say something doesnt work, just because they dont like it or understand it,i believe systems work for some and some it doesnt,so its not hard to see,if u like do it,if u dont then dont do it,but dont bash!
