I am striking out on finding the right cue, so far. Has nothing to do with the cues I have seen or have been offered up to this point...I am just being very particular, since this will be my ONLY cue to play around with.

So....Heres what I want:

19-19.5 ounces
2 shafts prefered, at/over 12.5mm
Linen wrap or wrapless
Medium-stiff to stiff hit
STRAIGHT, SOLID, AND SOUND

Budget - $600 (ish)

The right cue has GOT to be out there.

Of particular interest:

Older Schon cues
Barnhart
Olney
Sly
Scruggs
Josey
Murrell
Klein
M. Webb

FORGOT TO MENTION - I WILL BE PULLING THE TRIGGER ON A CUE BY THE END OF SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL. I NEED A CUE IN-HAND BEFORE X-MAS WEEK, SO I HAVE A WAY TO DODGE THE MOTHER-IN-LAW!!!!!!!!

That might be because most or all of your wish list cues exceed 600.00. Maybe double or triple your budget will yield better results. For 600ish, you can find plenty of cues that meet your specs in other makes.

Last I checked, PJ cues or sneakies hovered between 300-600 for most of the makers I listed. No need to double or triple the budget for one that meets my weight and shaft diameter desires.

Looking for ones that are currently closet queens, and can be swapped for xmas cash.

'Tis the season, and all that crap.

I have this olney which is new, test hit only. it has his best, never-fail, 1/2 phenolic joint and he made this one =in what he considers the best playing wood, pau ferro.

very pretty (pics aren't picking it up very well), plays fantastic. Comes w/1 shaft and I believe it's about 12.75 but can measure if you are interested.

It is $750 shipped which is precisely what I paid (and I buy smart ).

Also, I have a close to new Jensen maple merry widow w/linen wrap and nice rings. 5/16 14 ss joint (his specialty). If you haven't looked at Jensen cues, you really should consider these *highly regarded* superb hitting cues. :)

This one comes with 2 shafts and I don't remember exactly but I think they are 12.5 & 12.7, all straight and like new.

I don't have pics at the moment but can take some if you think you might like it.

How's $475 shipped?

let me know if you might be interested in either.

best,
brian kc

Brian,

The Olney is above my budget...but the Jensen sounds very interesting to me.

ok mr rat; :)

here's the Jensen pics.

the shafts are 12.8 and 12.1

it doesn't show up too well in the pics but all of the rings feature a slatey-blue accent and this plays off of the subtle black w/light blue speck linen.

pretty sure it's just about 19 oz, can weigh it later if you're still interested.

best,
brian kc

12.1mm shaft is 3.9 oz, total with butt = 19.2 oz

Right one

My opinion is: This type post doesn't belong here. If he wanted cue to play with he could easily buy one. Seeing this type post getting bumped is a waste of peoples time. Everyone wants a $500 cue for $50. Or a $1500. cue for $600.
Wake up AZers He is just fishing to take advantage of a sucker. Why keep thinking you can sell him a cue at an honest deal and waste time bumping the add with pictures. The right cue is one he can make money with.

Your opinion is valued at slightly less than dog s#!t on a paper plate, jackass.

I posted in a "Wanted/For Sale" thread because I WANT to buy a cue. I would say that my post is EXACTLY where it belongs.

Did I make mention of wanting a $1500 dollar cue for $600? No. I did not. (but for those inclined to make such an offer - I'll get back to you).

I've had two cues in my hands in the last two weeks, because I'm looking for a player, and pulled the trigger on each one. One did not 'feel' right when I hit with it, and the seller was kind enough to offer me the chance to try it out, just to be safe. It wasn't for me, so I shipped it back to him. The seller completely understood, and took the cue back without a second thought. The second cue had issues with delivery and receipt, and the seller and I reversed the deal.

So I'm back on the hunt, looking for a cue. In a place where people go to look for a cue. See....that's the purpose of a WANTED thread. I WANT a cue, and WANT to buy a cue. So I go to the forum where people post that they WANT a cue. You kinda see how this works, now?

Take your bullshit drama elsewhere. I did not post a thread asking for your interpretation of my intentions....so shove it sideways, and go elsewhere.

I agree , I hate these type of threads also . He has had some outstanding cues offered , at reiculasly low prices , and he is still Fishing . Kinda Stupid .

Really?

So I should just jump on the first good offer? Maybe the first cue quoted at or under fair market price is the ONLY option I should consider?

When did it become wrong to post up a thread about looking for a cue, and fielding offers from sellers to see which one trips the trigger just right?

If by 'fishing' you mean I'm weighing all options...than you're damned right, I am. Last time I checked, I was spending MY money, not yours....so how about you let ME decide where I spend it?

I've already 'bought' two, and neither worked out...so I came back to the place I've been coming to since 2005, looking for the right item. I think I've got a handle on this. Thanks for your 'help.' Sorry I wasn't interested in the Madden or Schon you offered me via PM earlier today. Is that why you're upset? Because I didn't want YOUR stuff?

It's an attention grab and that's all. Like the fat ugly woman at the bar who's been hanging out all night just to tell you you're "not her type" when you've finally had enough beer to talk to her.

I beg to differ with the last few posters!

I have dealt with Rat on this forum for several years and have sold him a LOT of cues during that time. He has always been a stand up member of this forum who looks for a good value and has been through enough cues to know what he likes. No one is putting a gun to your heads to make you sell him a cue.

He has been here a lot longer than most or all of the people that have expressed their concern, and has a lot of great feedback from others on the transactions he has done in the past.

There is no bumping rule I'm aware of for a guy that wants to BUY something off this forum. If I had a cue to sell that met his criteria, I wouldn't care for someone trying to run off potential business.

Give the hall monitor stuff a rest. Nobody voted for you and you are being really petty for grownups. The Admins are quite capable of doing their job...
