Mrs. Lincoln didn't remarry.

In Jeremiah's case me may choose not to be interested in competitive billiards after an experience like this.

I am curious to know how severe he has been wronged. Its unlikely his lifestyle depends on the winnings.

Like that movie pool hall junkies where a strong player is dissatisfied by the people in the industry, then gives it up or reduces it to a hobby.

The fact that he took second place and didn't get paid is the point.
The mere fact that he needs to come on to AZ to try and get money
owed to him is more than enough effect on his life, already.

Perhaps a better question is, would it effect Str8shot's lives to pay him
what they owe ?

who's lifestyle isn't affected by $1000????

I'd be eating many more steak dinners with an extra $1000 in my pocket, and I make good money...

Every thread I've seen regarding Str8Shots has been filled with BS controversy, and bigger BS excuses and spin. At this point, one would need to be deaf, dumb, and blind to believe a single word out of this organization.

Besides the missing payment, do you have any other issues with Str8Shots?

If there was another event run by Str8Shots would you attend?

The issues I have with Str8Shots are the lack of communication and the unprofessionalism of their actions. I can understand if they needed some time, but it has now been over 90 days.

I have attended 5 of their events in the past year and I thought the tournaments were ran great until this tournament. Str8Shots even failed to attend their latest event in Oklahoma City at Jamaica Joe's.

It would be very difficult for me to trust Marc or Kimberly running another tournament.

Until you placed and expected to get paid in a timely fashion.

Have to wonder, out of the 5 Tournaments that you entered plus how many others that Str8 Shots sponsor, how many others have the same trouble that you guys have had collecting their winnings.

Just because they don't post about it on AZB, doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't happen on a regular basis.

Yes, maybe no? We just know about you guys and that is enuff to set off any Players radar participating in any Tournaments that they have anything to do with.

i completely agree with you, and i'm sorry that this wasn't avoided. assuming that the $$$$ was stolen, and they needed more time to make good - a simple honest phone call probably would have appeased all 4 of yáll. and if, they had been smart enough to pay each of yáll 85% of winnings, within 30 days, we probably wouldn't even be having this conversation now.

but they paid #1 & #3 only, in full, to date.

why? why not #2 & #4?

to me, this speaks volumes.

my question to you on above quote:
WHEN were the other 4 events that paid smoothly?

Suppose the money was stolen.

Would you take credit in the amount you won for entrance into future tournaments?

This way they have a realistic amount of time to "find" the missing money. And possibly at the next tournament they have the money to pay you.

Rather than get worked up think about what they could offer aside from the prize money in the short term.
It is obvious they owe it, but think about something that could reduce distasteful experience you are having.
They likely won't have any good ideas. Hopefully you have something that is a good negotiating point.

Common answers are seeding in the tournament, possibly a buyback or preference at table selection and time to play.

I'm wondering if the Calcutta money was paid out (maybe in a different purse) or was it stolen too? It is telling that str8shots has chosen not to even respond to this thread. If they were serious promoters, they would have made up the payments out of their own pockets, IMO.

OTOH if they have encountered such adversities that they are unable to pay, they should say that too. It just seems like they have taken the dishonest route of lies and deceit. To the OP, hope you get paid.

Note. When "Straigh8 Jen" first came on here myself and several others blasted her because something didn't seem right. The next day Justin from TAR came on here and said we had her all wrong and she was cool. Myself and others apologized to her...I take that back. Johnnyt

I was one also, I take it back tooo!

The Calcutta money was not stolen, just 1st through 4th place.

Contact the local town court and ask to file a small claims lawsuit. If they don't show or don't convince the judge that you were paid ...they lose. VERY EASY to do. Cost under 10 bucks to file and no lawyer needed. They will give you a court date in 4 to 6 weeks. You don't have to serve them typically. Just do it...often they settle up prior to court date knowing they wont win.

I've won 3 small claims and still never got paid. It just ruined their credit with the judgment against them.

Everyone told me i'd never collect my 'judgment'. In NYC the Marshalls duty is to enforce judgments. I had to pay them a whole $35 and one week later got my $3k! If the people you have judgments against have 'property', there is probably someone who can collect for you

Answer: A simple phone call.

The situation has been explained already.

This issue happens at the professional level and gets worked out.

Making it a public debate, how does that help?

The person that has to fix the problem is working on it. Why waste time talking about what he is going to do to fix it?

Obviously, the OP posted because he was having problems getting paid and had doubts that Str8shots was indeed making earnest efforts to pay him.

I dunno, mon. To me, that sounds like a truly awful arrangement on many levels.

1. Given its inability to pay a few k in past-due obligations, doesn't sound like the str8 folks will be around much longer.

B- so they fund past obligations with current income. How long can this go on? Many promoters have been lambasted for such behavior, in the past.

The money was promised and they have been ducking it. Reminds me of the guy I beat who failed to pay me...I asked him about it later and he said,'now you asked for it, you ain't never gonna get it'.

I have these friends Vito and Guido who will be glad to make him an offer. Happened locally years ago. The guy had an "accident" ;) .

And if that would happen more often these jerk offs would get the message. Of course there is something called posting also. Johnnyt
