I had several talks with Marc & Kimberly Griffiths around the time of your tournament last year in July. I had also talked to them several time in the year previous.

I believe they had good intentions. I also believe they did not know what they were doing.

I don't think they ever set out to defraud anyone - but things happen.

I do not understand why they let this go for so long. They could have easily contacted the few unpaid players and made arrangements.

The non-performance on the junior players and other similar things are a different matter.

Bottom line - communication is the key to making things work.
I wish things had gone better for them and the pool world!!

first off since they said the money was stolen. believe them and call the police and have a report filed that your money was stolen from their care. and it is possible they are the ones that took it or embezzled it. that will get some action quickly as the police must act on such a large theft case..

since they wont communicate with you you are right to do this.

then let them know you are alerting the state about them not filing their reports.

then start a small claims action. after you win you can put a lien on anything they own and have money taken out from any wages or income they receive. and also start the process of selling their assets to pay your claim.

if they know your going to do all these things and once you start will continue. they will be forced to make things right with you unless they are idiots and really want many more headaches.

this is fair as people need to learn that they have to pay their obligations. and if late not lie or avoid people that have done nothing wrong to them.

aside from being pitiful cash-flow, based on the statement above that you conveniently heard 2nd-hand, you will get paid. (and exampled by most previous claims settled.) good for you! :happydance:

what's the over/under @ 30 days from AUG 14?

Note. When "Straigh8 Jen" first came on here myself and several others blasted her because something didn't seem right. The next day Justin from TAR came on here and said we had her all wrong and she was cool. Myself and others apologized to her...I take that back. Johnnyt

Wow! It all started so well and then one after another screw up that has hurt many players financially and maybe shattered some dreams of Juniors and up and comers and industry people. Lots of promises with little follow through. can anyone believe anything they say anymore?

It just shows the state we are in when even a housewife with no knowledge of the industry cant save pool!

I sure hope I'm wrong on this occasion, for I want the best for the people they sponsor and want to share in the vision that guides Str8shots. I hope Str8shots, which has a history of addressing the AZB community to enhance and/or protect its own image, comes forth and explains its position and its plans and timetable to make good on the defaulted payments.

its strange that if there truly was a theft in excess of $1000, no police report popped up? nothing to prove their stance?

Besides the missing payment, do you have any other issues with Str8Shots?

If there was another event run by Str8Shots would you attend?

Mrs. Lincoln didn't remarry.

In Jeremiah's case me may choose not to be interested in competitive billiards after an experience like this.

I am curious to know how severe he has been wronged. Its unlikely his lifestyle depends on the winnings.

Like that movie pool hall junkies where a strong player is dissatisfied by the people in the industry, then gives it up or reduces it to a hobby.
