Playing rotation in the P. I. with Efren. Alternate break, all I had to do was pocket a ball and I won. 4 and a quarter inch pockets.
I make a ball on the break I win. I slop a ball in I win.
Problem was sometimes I didn't make a ball on the break. I never won on his break. It was a losing proposition.

I hung out with "Little Al" a bit when I was in TX. He's a pretty cool guy.
Last year, out at Shooters in Olathe, I watchd (and filmed) Manny Perez giving the breaks and the last FIVE to kid from my home town. It was originally a race to 7, then to 2-ahead. Then they flipped, and it was race to 9, then 2 ahead when it went hill-hill again. They flipped and made it 3-ahead. My friend gamble without hands. He keep cue between his legs.
Wild 6,7.8 the break, first shot after the break, he could "scoop" jump, and no 3 foul...
Also, when he got tired he would have his wife sub for him and she played same game. She was better than him but he didn't want to admit it so she played couple games then he would take back over.

I was 16 the first time we came down to Dallas and went in Rusty's on NW HWY. Lil Al was playing there a lot, so was "Baltimore Danny," Steve "the Lizard" Smith, "TopWater," John Hagger Sr., "Frisco Jack" Cooney, "Black Sam," "The Cue Doctor Ben Tubbs" and "Torpedo Max".......
Wanna talk about "Action," there was games for $500 and $1000 there almost every night.....as well as cards, dice and "anything else" naughty OR nice.

He never offered me that spot! I might've had a chance if he had.
I've played once in the last year and a half. Been busy making money. I plan to get back to some semi-serious playing starting next summer. I'm getting old and it's now or never.
How's your game, and when are you coming to the states to play some?
I gave a D player a spot where all they had to do was make the 9 ball hit the end rail on any legal shot, that was pretty sick. I've also given up the one and the break before, mostly as a way to get action flowing, but it turned out to be an interesting game.
The sickest I ever heard of though was a top pro, who shall remain nameless, giving the 6 out, the last four, and the break and BIH to boot, and playing for $60,000 a GAME. It was back in the 80s and, according to the way I heard it, the guys were paying the pro and his backer off in bricks of cocaine after every five games. So sick if true.

The one and the break, wow. Playing with a magic rack you ought to get robbed by anyone at a C or above level. Even with a normal rack, if the player has any knowledge at all you are in big trouble. You've either got mad skills or you hate your money!

gromulan you beat me too it. I did the same thing. I won 2 out of 3. It was also sweet because though he was a D. he had a very high opinion of himself and was overall obnoxious.

I was new to pool and I'm sure it's a gaffe spot but I never wanted to try and give it to anybody.

That has to be the biggest spot I have ever heard of.
My question to CJ, that is so far out there, how in the hell did you ever come up with that spot?

In the early 90s Leonardo Andam gave some kid the 4-out in 9 ball, but not the breaks and won 4 straight sets. I missed it by 20 minutes. It was at Tommy Baker's pool room in Fontana in California...I'm guessing 1993 or 4. No one knew who Andam was, he beat Morro twice in the finals of the 9 ball tournament there 7-0 7-0.

From Hennessy - If I make a legal hit, I win. (I lost)
From Tedder - 6 out, last 6, break, ball in hand after the break (played multiple times, I won and lost)
Fro a local player - 1 pocket 10-3 my fouls don't count (I lost at least 6 different times)
From a lot of people - 1 pocket I get the hand span (I've won and lost this way)
From a short stop who never played 3 cushion - he has to run at least two in 3 cushion in order to score, all my points count (I stole this money, he had no shot not knowing any 3 cushion, I would have won even)
I played the 3 ball ghost (I lost a lot)
Strong Arm John gave an AZ member that they could play 9 ball in any order and the last 3. The first part is a bit of a hustle if someone can't play shape on three balls but the last 3 takes that away and makes it almost impossible for me to understand.
