Suggestions for cue maker who has somewhat immediate availability, good price, hit...

I would call Andy Gilbert and see what he had to say. I guess your selection will depend on your idea of a reasonable wait. It reminds me of the old joke "Good. Fast.Cheap. Pick two."

I like the sounds of your design. Let us know what you end up with.

I would like to have a plain jane made. Steel joint, 5/16x14 piloted, ebony forearm and butt, extended lizard wrap(can be textured leather). Nothing else really, maybe some ring work to keep it looking good.

Bottom line, I like a steel joint, ebony wood, and a lizard wrap. I don't care about points, inlays, etc. Just want a player style cue to my specs, for a reasonable price. And obviously I don't want to be on a 5+ year wait list.

Sooooo, suggestions for good cue makers who have availability and decent price.

Similar to this cue, but with steel joint and extended wrap. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=295388&highlight=coker

Barry Cameron got mine done in a little over 4 months and he was able to start right away. You might want to give him a call, his cues were starting out at around $485 if I remember correctly. ( do a search for Cameron Custom Cues)

Also don't be afraid to shop around a bit. There are a ton of good, reasonably priced cue makers out there today. The research you do will be well worth it.

I've heard ebony is in short supply right now, I'd say check with Al Link of Star City Cues but you may have to wait a few months until he finishes mine

Travis/Blackcreek makes a fantastic playing cue with a compression fit SS joint. Very reasonably priced as well and generally a relatively short lead time.

What are you considering a fair price? Anything associated with BB is fairly steep .

Thanks to all for the suggestions. Now I'm going to have to look into and research them all.

Thanks again and keep the suggestions coming.

he is just starting out. He works out of the black boar shop. His prices range from 500 to 1500 roughly. Tony has been teaching him. He helped Scruggs with getting premium woods and Black Boar. He is friends with both and expressed an interest in building cues and Tony said when do you want to start? Been at it about 6 months to a year and his cues are NICE. Completed 3 or 4 for local Maryland players i know of.

Keith Kues can get it done for you. The absolute longest you would wait is a little over a month. probably less, for something so simple. The pin would be 3/8x10 though. can still add a steel joint if you want.

$500ish depending on ring work, and if you want to pony up for real lizard.

LMK.

Thanks,

Justin
