SVB vs Corey D racking issue

Maybe, but what's odd to me is that the first time they played last weekend I don't remember either checking. So maybe Corey watched the match on youtube and saw something he wanted to check out?
I like both of those guys, so I'm not really taking a side on it. I just don't think it's fair for us to try to guess what Corey's intent was.

I think they are both playing in the Pro-Am at CR's this weekend, may Ray can get them in the booth and we will find out the rest of the story.

If you "like" them leave them to f alone:wink:

It is pool. We discuss pool here.

So what you are saying is that I shouldn't start a thread to discuss naked college-aged female volleyball players, wrestling in an inflatable kiddie pool filled with baked beans, creamed corn and mayonnaise?

While not glue, I do have a plan to get pool back on TV......

Hearing the words bickering and attacking, I am at a loss.
Maybe I am just a major a$$Hole, or others are overly sensitive.

I can honestly say thought me and Jerry were having a fun conversation. Sorry to everyone in the thread, ill jump out of this one.

It's all good....after all, it's just the internet.

Hey...no making up...
When a pool player says “Gimme a break.”...that’s the last thing you wanna do....
....maybe he’ll go for the last two

This is exactly why I don't understand the fascination with playing professional 9 ball events. The 9 ball rack has been flawed forever and is open to manipulation. Pair that with the fact that this event was played on a box and it's even more dumb. Why not simply switch to 10 ball and end most of the rack nonsense?

Well then they'd simply b!tch about the 10 ball rack. I've given the solution a few times!

And I've pointed out that your way encourages the thugs and cheats. Is that the sort of "game" you like to play?

We had our annual pro invite over the weekend. There was not even a hint of a problem.

1st Dennis Hatch
2nd Alex Olinger
3rd-4th Mike Dechaine
3rd-4th Ed Hancock

Just get rid of the "ball-on-the-break requirement". It has become more trouble than anyone could have imagined.

I say this for all 3 games (Eight, Nine, & Ten-Ball)

Fixed.

Bob, it's obvious as a hat on a horse that "some" of these guys are being thought of as thugs and cheats now. What I suggest, there is no way to cheat, just fit the balls in a triangle.
How many more instances of SVB/ Corey's game are needed to see this? This particular example is just one of many.
And the game I like to play is where somebody is not standing there fondling the rack, trying for that little bit of CHEAT, maybe pros need this, I don't. And you specifically asked me if that's the game I like. We play rack the balls then play pool, none of that bullshit you see with pros. And we don't have all the snotty nosed sniveling and whining. The group I play with would be happy with the way I suggested, because we ENJOY what we do. My usual group are all retired and don't care for or tolerate any stupid shit. That's the sort of "game" I like to play!
I've read many of your posts and respect and admire what you do for the game, I'll not argue. You have your opinions and I have mine. We are on different levels as to what we want out of the game. My friends and myself want to enjoy our time spent at the tables!

I agree with Johnny here. Just rack the balls as best you can and as tight as you can and get on with it. If the racks looks bad, say something, get it right and away you go. Exactly the same principle should apply in pro tournaments as applies at the recreational level, just with consistently better tables and (hopefully) with referees who just sort the rack out so the game can begin. The whole mindset of getting an edge by racking needs to be swept away. In private money games no problem, use your racking edge if you have one. In tournaments, no way - get it out of the game. If that means players not "sitting the f down and shutting the f up" then so be it. The game needs credibility.

Paul, does your format offer winner break or alternate?

You do understand that pool hacks- like you and I and Bob and Fred and Ben and, etc...- aren't in need of the extra little benefit the rack gaming provides?

At the top level, that small increase is very meaningful.

For us? Game is hard enough that dropping the wing ball every time is not going to dramatically change the outcome of a session.

Anybody consider that there might be more pros jumping on the bash Shane's rack wagon???
This is what pool players do when they believe they can't win straight up and we all know heads up, Corey doesn't stand a chance. It's my thoughts that the "American pros or players" are tired of watching Shane win 6 figures every year and looking for anything to F$CK with him and get in his head...
