Swanee Update???

Mark, thank you for another excellent event. Great talent showed up for this and we all seemed to have a good time. I know you worked your azz off during this tournament but you also looked like you were enjoying yourself.

Can you bring this show back next year? Will Eddie be OK with it? I certainly hope so. This is one event many people look forward to each year.

Anyhow Mark, be good and shoot 'em straight.

I hope that HT made enough money at the gate to make it worth while - $5.00 on Sat and $10.00 on Sun considering the number of sweaters I saw there. Also the food added to the hot dog and hamburger was delish.:)

Well, there was the green fee too.

So, some people played (or had a bye) 5 matches on Saturday? That's the part I didn't know, I guess. I won my first two matches then lost the third. My fourth match (on the losers side) I lost and was out, but I thought win or lose I was done for the day. So I guess the guy that beat me had to play another match Saturday night after the one with me?

All I know is that the top 48 returned on Sunday and the payouts went down to the top 64.

Hi,

No, we played down to even 48. At the end of the night, there were 16 matches played on one loss side. Those who lost places 49-64 and winners returned next day. There isn't 192 Bracket so we used 256 bracket (we placed a bye @ every 4th spot).

I had a great time co-directing the tourney, helping out with TAR and playing tournament police - there were so many people in that room they were getting in the way of players during the match. I had no problem bullying those people out of the way

I know I looked like I was either suffering from great pain or angry most of Saturday. No words can explain what it was like on Saturday at Hardtimes when then door opened and everyone rushed in to get the matches started. If that wasn't crazy enough, about 20 people on the alternate list came by every other match called hoping to get in if someone didn't show...

Thanks for everyone who came by to introduce yourself to me and I apologize I wasn't too friendly:sorry: I wish I could be little more loose but I need more practice handling stressful situations.

I wish we could have an event like this in LA 4 times a year! It's always full with a waiting list to boot. What other pool player can we celebrate?

Sunny, you did a great job! Thanks for coming and letting me play. It was my first time playing in the Swanee. I had much more fun playing than working.

You and Mark did a great job in running the tournament. In the two days I never got the impression that you were anything other than your normal cheerful self. You did look a bit tired after the finals were over and thats understandable. I'm looking forward to next years event. See you in May.

Where was Brendon Crockett?

I saw him in the evening on Saturday. He said he's been busy with school, too busy to concentrate on pool. But hey, he's also a teenager and just got his driver's license so I'm sure like us when we were that age, other things like girls have become more interesting. ;)

I'm glad you had a great time playing... but take it easy- some people have to make a living playing pool! :p
