Nope, not me on either count. The only other place I played at regularly was West Coast Billiards, over on 4th St. N in St. Pete.

I'm heading to Stroker's PH now to get some practice in and loosen my arm up before the tourney. Stop by and say hi if you're there. :D

Hans,

Nice meeting you at Strokers last night. The turnout was sort of light, wasn't it?

It was the lightest I have ever seen there (must be because of the holidays). They usually have between 20 and 25 players show up regularly and the field is usually a lot stronger.

The Wednesday night tournament will be ever lighter because last week Dave (the guy who works there and runs it), said that last week was the last tournament of the year because they were going to be closed xmas eve. Now they are open and are trying to let everyone know they are going to have the tournament still but i don't think enough people will know about it in time.

It was nice meeting you as well, Russ. yeah, it was a light turnout. Too bad I just couldn't get a decent stroke going. :embarrassed2: I have my excuses, but it all boils down to my shooting inconsistently for God knows how long now. :frown: I need to pratice WAY more. I seem to be making fairly difficult shots, then completely brain-farting on easy, straight-in shots.

I'm planning to try and make it to Stroker's tonight for the 9-ball tourney. Should be interesting to see how many people show up.

Eh.... I've been on vacation for a month, and besides that I've been trying to head to a few of the tournaments that Josh heads to. Besides those, I'll usually head down to Tampa for tournaments because I like having to try to get past 3-4 really good players to do well in a tournament, even if I have to travel a bit.

I hadn't really even been practicing all that much until I got back from vacation. I had some good results when I played in WA and Belize, so I decided to start hitting the table again. I wouldn't mind having someone to practice with if you wanna come over, so just PM me if you are interested. Remember I got the Diamond at home now. I keep asking Josh, but you know how he is.

I've been down your way a few times but yea I mostly play out of Strokers.

I was up @ Stroker's PH earlier, Greg let me in early (they didn't open until 7:30pm, he let me in @ 7pm.) No tournament, since no one really showed up. Which is about what I expected.

I need to head to Hammerheads and play in the tournament one of these days...never been there, heck, I'm not even sure where it is. :o

It's just up the road a bit on 19 - nice room - beautiful Diamond tables.

foxcues, I haven't seen TR since he owed the room by the college on fowler. that's amazing that he is below 400 lbs!!!! good for him!! he used to stake buddy against bubba from clearwater then, amazing games they played. buddy banked so good on that table up front!! I watched him run 16 and out a couple of times.

glad TR plans on getting out again. funny character. steve cook used to be in there too at that point in time. foxcues, what is your name? we're you in that room then?

no I wasn`t in florida back then.I`ve been in in fl since 2000.I`m good freinds with buddy also.I made cues and collected cues for many years.TR bought several cues from me and I sold a couple of bushka/zamboti`s for him.
If you go to onepocket .org and type in chicago in the search window you will find where grady mathews is recalling a match from many years ago.On about the 2nd/3rd page there is a picture of of TR/his sons/buddy/me/freddy yates and some others. It was taken newyears day last year I beleive.
