We have been told that TAR 23 will be announced on Thursday, it will NOT include SVB, so I got wondering, who the heck could it be?

I will add a few clear possibilities and some hypothetical musings into a poll and add the all important "Other" due to the fact that this could be anything. So vote who you might think it is, who you might hope it is, who you rare people out there might "know" who it actually is so we don't have to wait till freaking Thursday!

I dont think all the options suck. I just think its going to be something people arent expecting. Cant wait to hear.

Daulton vs Efren 1-pocket!!

Efren vs Anyone in 1-pocket is an awesome thing, but I am not thinking that TAR will do a 1-pocket match due to the pace of that game. They were whining about the length of the SVB vs Alex match each night, I personally thought the amount of pool played on each night was perfect.

That said, Efren needs Frost even to this day to really make an even match. And that is one of the only 1-pocket matches I think TAR would jump at. I think all of us 1-pocket fans want to see Efren vs Frost in a long session before Efren gets too old to do it.

I will guess Bartrum vs someone playing 10 ball either even or with Bart getting last 2 or call 9.

Whoever plays I hope its race to 75 or something a hair shorter so I can go out saturday night or friday night. Maybe an hour earlier start time.

Get daz to smoke someone playing 8 ball!

What you got a date Mikey???

I would freaking love to watch an 8-ball match on that Diamond with the 4 1/8th pockets, that would be killer.

PS: but what if it is Appleton vs Charlie?

CW can't fade Daz in that game. I was thinking SVB, Efren, or Earl. That's who it would take to give that man a sweat in that game.

Come on dog, I'm trying real hard to not go in on you.

Efren vs Appleton race to 50 in 8-ball on that 9 foot with the Fatboy rails? Can you say "highest PPV numbers for TAR ever"? I could see it.

8 ball on a 9 footer has been proven time and time again too easy for the pros. I just can't see it. Even with alternate break it's like tennis. Celtic I understand it's your game of choice but I just don't see it.

I don't care who's tricked up pockets you put on. Probably a one pocket or maybe even a straight pool match. Though I selected Hatch vs Darren.

Other then the IPT it has hardly even been touched, and has it EVER been played on 4 1/8th inch pockets? Heck, IMO 9-ball and 10-ball are getting too easy for the pro's when SVB can strong a 7-pack and 2 6 packs in a race to 100 on that particular table in 10-ball...

8-ball is one of those games that NEEDS tigher pockets, you simply cannot play the game on 4.5 inch pockets, but 4 1/8 inch pockets on that 9-foot? I think we would see some shots, I think we would see some misses, once 15 balls are on the table, guys have to play shape on windows or go short side to get shape on a shot up the long rail into the corner all the while making a pot on a 4 1/8h inch pocket? I think that game would test the pro's some. They are gonna get out on open racks for sure, they get out on 9-ball and 10-ball open racks too, but 8-ball actually makes people play trick shape, shortside stuff, banks, ect... more often and that stuff is going to be tough on a truly tight cut diamond.

And keep in mind, I think the ultimate table to play 8-ball on at the pro ranks is without a doubt the 10-foot tables that diamond are making with pockets cut exactly as tight as the Fatboy rails. Alot of people have clammored "oh no, that is too tight on a 10-foot..." but IMO that is what is needed to build the ultimate 8-ball platform for professional pool going into the future. I certainly don't think 8-ball on the 10 foots with 4 1/8th inch pockets is going to be "too easy" for the pro's, and I think that the best players will finally be realized.

The IPT showed us enough. The greats rolled up impressive stretches. The amateurs and pretenders simply washed out the averages. The top players B&R in the 30's. Compare that to the stats of SVB vs Alex.

has there been a TAR in the works other than Shane/Earl??? Am I missing something or are we just playing around?

Justin announced it on the podcast last week. He is going to give the details Thursday.
