Tar 38

I still would rather watch 8 ball than 9 ball or 10 ball. The only game I play is bar table 8 ball, so watching the best in the world play the game, no matter what rules, is still great to see.

Seems like the answer is don't show 8-ball. AZB is split down the middle on what rules they want to see and I would guess AZB members are a big chunk of the viewers on TAR. Why has 15 ball rotation never been tried? Now that's a hard game. Johnnyt

I agree that 8ball needs to go. Adding straight pool into the mix would be far preferred to rotation, though.

Preferred by who over rotation? I really enjoy playing 14.1 but really never watch it. I believe all the talk about patterns are way over rated. The breakshot is the most important IMO. If your a shot maker and can play good position, think 3 balls ahead and keep in mind trouble balls you can run a bunch of racks. If someone can't figure out what balls are break balls from the start of the rack they need to go play 9 ball. Johnnyt

I have no problem with the table being open after the break. I actually really enjoy seeing great players control the table and run out for many racks on end. That's just the nature of 8-ball.

It was amazing. Some of the outs were crazy. I dont know how people dont enjoy that. I was glued to my computer.

Yeah I much preferred this kind of 8 ball. What gets lost in talk of how long the match was is that there were some fantastic outs. These guys really had to think and maneuver. Great stuff.

On a side note, if Darren was breaking better Dennis would be a HUGE dog in this match. Darren is the clearly better 8-ball player but he has broken terribly all night.

and if the queen had balls she'd be the king right?

Darren is playing well, muttering a bit when things are not going right. Commentary is tough to listen to, I usually like Cotton when he is in with JJ but him and Jay just don't work for me as a duo.
