TAR: OMGWTF vs CubC Video is up for FREE!!

Cant we all get along?

I mean this horse is turning to dust from all of the beating.

There was some bad blood. It is over, done, settled.

Who gives a sh!t if someone shook hands or not. One person was elated and one felt gutted. Both wanted to be somewhere else when it was over. They both put it on the line and played. The least the guy deserves is some peace.

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm totally stumped. :D

Why do you have to act like a ***** all the time?

I apologize for being off topic in the thread. The dude lost his match, a bit of pride and 3 grand.

Cut him a break. Put yourself in his shoes and tell me you wouldnt want everyone to just let it go.

i agree, leave the poor guy alone. it probably would of been a whole different ball game around here had he won.

Yes.

Even though this match was live streamed it was a money/gambling match. And how many times do you see players shake hands after a money/gambling match?

IMO shaking hands is reserved for after/before tourney, league or fun matches.

Steve

A little tip for both players. Watch a Buddy Hall tape. See how many times he hits the CB hard. Probably never. He smoothstrokes it all around the table something neither player seemed to be able to do.

PS-At that level the 7 is HUGE.

Congrats to omgwtf on the win. Apologies to those who bet on me.

This was a new situation for me with tough conditions. Started out good and caught a couple of hangers from a tough table and things just didnt work out. This was a learning experience. I arrived about 2 hours early to warm up but the room was locked until about 40 minutes before the match. First time playing in a hostile environment as well. Now I know just a tiny bit what Earl has had to get used to. Just when you think you have something figured out in this game something new comes up.

As far as shaking her hand at the end of the match goes, I took my time breaking my cues down, putting my shirt back on etc. And figured since when I told her good luck in the beginning and tried to shake her hand and she ignored me that the end of the match would be no different.

I obviously wont be frequenting these forums much except to check for upcoming tournaments. No regrets, no flaming, nothing negative from me. I'd rather have experienced this situation now for only 3g rather than later for more. That's all I'll be saying in regards to this. I'll still bet it up and I'll still be around playing tournaments :).

dude .. no need for apologies to your bettors...
Shit Happens....that's why it's a a gamble...

Nice post.

You can easily see who the gamblers are by this thread. Anyone who has every taken a beating knows how it feels and is taking it easy on Cub.

IMO ALL trash talking is done pre-game, after the match is over, move on.

Tap Tap for cubc for coming on here & posting. Why Marissa feels the need to tell a grown man how to act is beyond me--especially when she is trying to make 'a mountain out of a mole hill', as my grandfather used to say. This guy played for more money in one match than many of the accusers have played for combined in their entire life. Enough said.

As JCIN said, you can learn from your losses. You can also be happy that you were given the opportunity to gamble, fairly in a decent enough atmosphere. Maybe cubc should have brought some of his own supporters to Vegas to change the atmosphere, if that had an effect on him. I have seen that make a huge difference in the play of someone who is not used to playing under pressure.

I was out of line in my previous post.

We've all been the guy who said he was going to win and then ended up losing. Hell, I played a guy before I went to vegas that I should have been spotting, he spotted me AND beat me. I got my revenge and then some on the next match-up but thats another story.

no need for an appology. You thought you had the best of it and that was good enough for me to drop a few bones. Win some lose some.

Since I had an eye operation for retinal damage I stopped shaking hands and have given people the "fist" bump. Disease get transfered this way and when you are susceptible I highly recommend this. Having an eye infection after an eye operation is no fun. So is catching the flu or cold. So I tell all my pool friends please I do not shake hands and tell them why. Some guys insist. I guess thats how they were brought up. So I shake their hands and immediately wash mine afterwards.
But I do think its rude after a tournament or league play to shun aside an opponent as if he was a rag and not give recognition of his/hers attempt. Every one admires good sportsmanship. I have seen this bad behaviour several times after tournament play and its usually by one or two no class brats. Win or lose I try to show my opponent respect. At least for myself.

I think neither of them wanted to shake hands, and I don't see the problem with that.

When I play moneygames I never shake hands. That's for tournaments.

CubC, great to see you back. You have one of the best avatars, so keep on posting!!! Look at the match and what happened before as a lesson learned, and move on.

Glad to see you again, cubc

Who cares these two didn't shake hands immediately after the match or ever? When it's a $MONEY$ match?!?
Do you want to know what I consider a good sportsmanship for a money/gambling match?

1. Showing up - I got stood up many times becuase they change their minds or have better things to do like baby sitting a neighbor's dog for $5.00 an hour.

2. SHOW ME THE MONEY, when it's done!

3. Not Shark me during my shots.

4. Don't quiet in the middle of the set cause you don't like it... stop with the lame excuses like, "oh, man, if I don't get home in next 10 minutes, my wife is going to kick me out of the house... can we settle up some how?"

I didn't see cubc commit 1 through 4 crimes of gambling, so he's alright in by book.

Yeah, so far I've seen two racks and he seems to shoot at a decent speed. I guess he falls apart later, ha? Only one way to find out. :D

I just checked out the first 2 also. Good break, sporty shot maker but I don't like his jiggy stroke at all and would have suspected it would break down under pressure.

He seems to also be playing faster than he thinks. I'll catch the rest over the next day or two.

Props to TAR for posting it.

Jim

Just in case you're not kidding..Wind Beneath My Wings performed by Bette Midler is one of the most popular songs in decades. I think it reached #1 in 25 countries and has been re-record a bajillion times.

OMG was, of course, being sarcastic although cubc certainly did PAY for the wind beneath the wings of her airliner out and back!

Jim

OMGWTF is such a cutie...:p
And she plays very smart well withing her abilities...

The other guy shoots very fast with a pace of something in between Strickland and Drago...that's too fast for most normal human beings...
