Just some advice: Don't ask personal questions. These are professionals, treat them as such.
We'd like to see these players back on TAR and elsewhere (like AZB), but who could blame them if they refused to go through "that" again?
There were some pretty embarrassing moments in the SVB/Dechaine interview. "Gee Mike, why is your head so big?" That was immature back in Mrs. Johnson's fourth grade class.
Unless of course, you want to be the National Inquirer of pool.
I think personal questions are fine, not all personal questions are insulting.
"What do you like to do when you're not at the pool hall?" is a whole different planet from
"LOL why is your head so stupid?"
in their opinions, what is the most overlooked and under-practiced aspect of the game that keeps most decent to good amateur players from reaching the next level?
I wish this question got asked automatically on every podcast, it's probably the most
"useful" question I think... that and maybe some version of the "lightbulb" question
posted the other day in the forum. Something like "what was a realization that made you
feel like you just figured out something important that brought up your game?
Could be about spin, stance, mental game, whatever"
I know this question comes up alot, but if you at all possible you can ask them about their equipment, both players, such as, cue made? tip they prefer to use and why? weight of the cue? and to alcano what exactly is the orange part of the cue at the top of the forearm of his cue just below where you screw up the shaft.
Nothing personal, but to me equipment questions are kind of boring and not useful,
I wish players would stop focusing on equipment. You can borrow ronnie's exact cue
for ten years and still never shoot like him (well, maybe you will, but it won't be
because of the stick).
If you find out one likes a 13 mm hard tip and the other likes an 11 mm soft
tip, what useful information did you gain that could improve your game?
Or even help you choose what tip to buy?
Let's skip these questions in favor of something interesting and useful.
You can just search the forum to find out what 100 different pros use.
