Tascarella - Brazilian Titlist

IMHO Pete's linen might be the best out there. Great cue, backend is very similar to the Balsis Balabushka.

i had my doubts about the linen when i was buying mine.. i am really glad i have it.. it feels great.. part of me would still like leather.. but this linen does feel amazing and i am in no hurry to change it..

I'M VERY GLAD THAT THIS CUE CAME OUT SO NICE. I KNEW THE BLANK WAS SHARP, BUT NOT THIS NICE.......ENJOY IT, SHE'S GORGEOUS.

Pete made comments on multiple occassions "I am suprised Marcus didn't keep this blank".

Thanks again Marcus, its always a pleasure dealing with you.

Sick sick sick cue, I love it!!!! He did the points perfect with the wrap cut right at the start of the maple. That is everything I love in one cue. Good choices my friend.

Thanks for the comments.

When I was first talking to Pete about the conversion, the thing he said was "the wrap has to start where the maple ends, and not push the points up the forearm".

IMO, the bottom splice should not show on a titlist conversion. I am also not a fan of some of the conversions that have the splice way up by the joint.

Take care,

Is this simply a cosmetic thing, or something else?

IMO its 2 things.

1. Cosmetic - If the points are way way up the forearm it says to me "this blank wasn't suitable for conversion otherwise".
2. Full Splice - If the points are moved up the forearm very far, there is little chance that the cue can remain full splice and be a normal length. (without adding a handle.

I wanted it this way as this is how you see all the old bushkas, very low points. Here is a picture of one of Tikklers bushkas showing the low points.

What a sweet cue.

Finding a dark Titlist that was thick enough to convert without "pushing the points" forward was super fortunate. The Tascs did a great job with that cue. I've got to say the rosewood Titlist on a "domino" cue is SO the way to go. I love the color symmetry between butt and arm, which even Balsis's cue didn't have. Is the butt of your cue is the original Titlist with the dots inlayed in and Tasc didn't section it in?

I'd love love love to know what year George built the Balsis cue.

Here's what Ernie Gutierrez was building at the same time (early 60s but not earlier than say 1963 or 64):

That is one beautiful Cue Kevin and one of my inspirations when asking Pete about this design.

I agree, I love the contrast of butt to forearm color...

Pete didn't add any sections to this cue, its fullsplice from joint to delrin. the black in the buttcap is essentially just rings installed over the original brazilian rosewood.
