Texas BCAPL State Tournament - Harker Heights, Tx 12-15 Mar 2009

This was such a fun tournament weekend in Killeen!! Some great pool was played, and I got to meet some new AZB'ers as well.
The finals of the masters put Barry Strickland against Sean Black (winner of last year's open division). Sean couldn't get anything started and Barry played great to win the title.
Ernesto Bayaua beat me to play Mr Behnke for the hot seat, and Ernesto lost that set. I beat Brian Sanders and Jason Bacon to get another shot at Ernesto but I played like crap and Ernesto played awesome to play in the finals against Behnke. In the first set, Ernesto caught a gear and won it 5-1...I think. In the second set, Ernesto kept up the great play and won that in a hard fought battle....5-2 (I think).
Sorry if the details are a little sketchy, but I still haven't fully recovered from the long weekend. LOL

Congrats on the nice finish Juan!! I'm still recovering too from the whoopin' Doc put on me! LOL. I seem to bring out the Efren in people! LOL.

And the Ladies team from San Antonio took the Womens

P.S. - It was a bad hit at 2:30am Sunday morning, it's a bad hit today and it will be a bad hit for the rest of eternity...

I talk to Sammy pretty frequently and am sure he qualified.

Okay, here is the shot... 12-12
The shooter is attempting to cut the ball below the 8 into the lower left corner. There is plenty of room to cut the ball, so there was no real need to call a ref.
The shooter shot the ball, hit the 8 first and CAROMED his ball into the corner pocket. The 8 goes straight down to the bottom rail and bounces back up.
Bad hit, period.
We knew it, his teammates knew it and all the spectators knew it.
But when the time came to man up and admit it he just wouldn't.
No ref, no foul.
And without a shred of conscience he proceeded to run the remaining balls.

Did you call a ref to make the call after he denied it?
The Ref can poll the gallery to make the call. imo.

That's what I think of him, that was the closest I've came in a long time of grabbing someone by the throat and choking the living crap out of them until his eyes roll back. I refused to shake his hand and said I don't shake hand with thief's. He did have the since to walk away with out a word, because I would have probably got banded for life by the BCA if anymore was said. For a while my Grey hair turned
again like the old days. While playing for OB Cues I didn't want to bring any negativity to them so I left right after that.
