We held our Pool for Pups tournament today at Badfish Billiards in Matthews (Charlotte) NC. The turn out was great, and everyone involved had a great time. Best of all, we raised over $1200 for the NC Rottie Rescue group! (There may have been more online, but that is just what we did at the event!)
I want to publically thank Scott Taylor and all the employees from Sterling Gaming/Cuesight.com for their support. 3 weeks ago when we first started planning the event, Scott jumped in and offered the resources of his entire staff and facilities. Flyers were designed, printed, and distributed in a matter of days. Several cues were donated for our raffle, as well as quite a few other items. Scott himself was there at 9:30 this morning when I pulled in and worked tirelessly all day doing whatever needed doing, as well as playing in the tournament. He also got into a bidding war when we auctioned off a t-shirt and pushed the bid up to $34!!!! And he didn't even win the shirt...someone else did!
All in all, our first annual charity tournament was a huge success, thanks in no small part to the efforts of Scott and his team.
If you ever need billiard supplies, please check out cuesight.com and help support a company that truely does support the game of pool, as well as a worthy cause like this one!
