Thanks TAR - Here's my 2 cents

My guess is that Dennis and the TAR guys have a past or something, because there was so many times he could have played on the Live Stream against great opponents and another match with players that already played on the stream got chosen. Dennis use to live in South Dakota and that is where TAR is from, correct?

Wow, that was a pretty off-the-wall statement to interject into an otherwise respectable post.....

The next time you are composing a lengthy reply and it seems you have ran out of intelligible things to type you may want to hit submit before you make another silly accusation that makes you look like a d-bag.

I have an opinion here as well. There were nine tables to play matches on and only one of them was the TAR table. Now who do you think they are going to put on TV? PUHLEEZE! If you want to be on television (in any sport) there is one easy way to do it. WIN SOMETHING!

Mike Dechaine never got on TV until he started winning. Same can be said for all the top players. It makes perfect sense to me to put the best matches with the high profile players on the TV table. I like Dennis as much as anyone. He's a credit to the game and I'm glad to see him doing well. If he continues on this path I expect we'll see him in a TV match soon.

I don't think TAR or anyone else needs to make excuses for who they choose to televise.

One thing is for sure and that is you can't make everybody happy! There are people in different time zones and probably different countries watching this. It would be impossible to make the timing of the stream condusive to everyone. I know some people were wishing there were more matches streamed but these guys are working long days and doing it to the best of their abilities. That was the only complaint i heard in my time watching the stream. You say they can leave the camera running but they did that at the Derby and somebody drunk got on the mic and several people were not happy about that. I am back to you can't make everyone happy.

Thanks TAR for a 1st class production and all your efforts. Money well spent!

I'm not implying anything, just calling it like I saw it.

The TV table played differently than the other tables in the room. Possibly the giant light setup, or the extra care, or possibly less cans of chalk off sprayed on it, who knows.

I heard Dennis say during his match with Alcaide that he wished all the tables in the room played like this table. And that he was having trouble getting his speed control correct on this table during the match.

Question for the PPV people, Did TAR stream 10 a.m. matches on all the days of the 1 pocket and/or 10-ball? Just didn't make sense that the final 4 of the 10-ball event of 96 of the worlds best didn't get the same attention.

(I also found out that the balls were not available because they were renting out the other non-TV tables during off hours to the amateurs.)

I'm pretty sure non of the early matches were filmed. I believe Justin needed his beauty rest.

Excuse me, but this is not you "calling it like you see it":

This is you "guessing", and a pretty negative and accusatory guess at that.

This is you taking a circumstance you have zero knowledge of and constructing a "guess" in public. And that guess is really negative and accusatory. I mean if we are "guessing" at why something happened, can't we guess a bunch of different ways (maybe even some of them positive)? Your guess is not how you see it, its how you are guessing it to be. And maybe you'd want to substantiate something as negative as what you are saying before you post it in public? But I guess, as your post shows, you don't feel that way.

Kevin

Thanks for your "assumptions" as to what you think I know about the situation. Trust me, if I was a different person I could have actually been real negative in this thread, instead of just saying they must have a past.

I also started with "Great Post Mikey", which if you were to assume anything would mean I agreed with all the good things that Mr. Frost posted in the original thread. Which as you probably forgot were all positive.

Good Day...

I was in the room during the one pocket bright and early each day, the 10am matches were not broadcast but it would have been awesome if they were, some really good matches in the early morning I got to sweat. I think TAR did a great job and each man on the team played an intricate part in the success of the stream. I look forward to the next BCA and the next TAR stream, what is next on the TAR schedule? :)

Your guess is wrong. I talked to Dennis several times during his tournament and he has not one thing against TAR.

I bought the TAR stream and live in the same town as Dennis now, and I would of loved to see him play on the TAR table. However, I understand that he is not a high profile player and I probably only represent .5% of their paying customers. I enjoyed every match I watched for the One Pocket and 10 ball. TAR did a great job and they will only improve from here.

I hope you can apologize for your assumption to TAR.

I was at a tournament watching Dennis and his matches. I can tell you that he played as well or better than anybody in the room. Pinegar and Ellerman never got going. Dechaine was a great match that many would have enjoyed. Several people asked TAR to display the match between Dennis and Shane van Boening for a reason. Dennis is from South Dakota originally and before Shane came into his game Dennis was the man. There have been a lot of people wanting to see this match for a long time. One of the advantages of being on the tv table is sponsors were watching the matches to see different players play and perhaps decide they want to sponsor those players as well. Ralph,Effren,Corey,Shane ect.........great players and a joy to watch. Mitch Ellerman, Dennis Haar and others are players that were just as capable of winning the tournament as Shane. So wouldn't it be nice if they could get some tv time so if sponsors are watching they might get endorsed and could play more. TAR puts on the best show with incredible picture quality. Give the little guy some exposure and who knows maybe you will get more players sponsored and build some other great tournaments. In sporting events you often hear of the cinderella story, at the US Open it was Dennis. Just to bad nobody saw it.

Jerry I understand what you commented on to be a question more than a statement. Although that's how rumors get started you've never been known to be the pot stirring type so don't sweat it, I think your initial post was giving props to TAR not slighting them.

As for the other comments in the thread, I think they're damn good. I hope TAR does figure out a way to do the video on demand feature. Would be cool to maybe sell packages like 5 blocks for $20. Then normal matches might be 1 block but say action matches are 3 or 4 blocks, stuff like that. I think people would definitely take advantage of that.
