Thanks to Bigtruck and Championship cloth for taking care of me, from the Buddy Hall auction. As soon as Bigtruck took the lead, everything was taken care of.

As a message to Johnny Archer, who is who I sent the check to. You sir are not a sir. A simple call, email, or DM on here would have made all the difference. You accepted my payment and left it to everyone but yourself to get things taken care of. If Bigtruck wasn't involved, I would still be sitting out here, without the cloth. I use to respect you and watch everything I could find online. It sucks when an idol in the sport takes the money and runs with it. I will not support anything with your name attached (im sure not a big deal for you.) As a fan, I am disappointed and sad that you didn't take the time to at least post in the thread about what the hangups were.

You should feel great that you did this for Buddy, but you shit on Bigtruck and users of the largest pool community to do it. All in all, I would keep your shit away from here unless you expect to get flamed.

I am glad that it worked out for you.

I have heard numerous times how the folks here at AZ are terrible to the pros, and basically terrible folks in general.

What I have found are the folks here bend over backwards, stick up for each other, try to find solutions. I have met several on here, while I traveled around the country and they always have been class acts and make me feel at home when I visit.

I have noticed when Johnny and other pros come on AZ they are looking for something, instead of giving something, expecting nothing in return.

It reminds me of some folks who wait until Grandpa dies and then come in for part of "their" inhertance.

Johnny should really be ashamed of himself. He knows better.

Please do not stereotype all pro players by the actions of one pro player. I do understand, however, your thoughts.

I agree that Johnny not being more forthcoming is disappointing, but how knows what's going on in his life right now. I'm not going to judge. The Johnny I know has always bent over backwards for pool fans every time I've seen him, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

That said, a big round of applause goes out to Big Truck (Ray) and Championship Cloth for coming to the rescue. :)

Some guys are great, some are piss poor.

Sorry to hear this happened to you. I have to agree with Jennie that this doesn't sound like the Johnny I know, I've seen him go out of his way for fans so many times. However, this doesn't negate your experience & it always saddens me when something like this happens involving any of my friends.

Awesome that Bigtruck & Champtionship Cloth stepped up & fixed it. :smile:
 
I'm sorry, it's way too easy to dogpile on people on this forum. I'm sorry the deal didn't go down as originally planned. I do not pretend to know why JA didn't deliver as advertised. Johnny has always been a stand up guy, and from what I've seen over his entire career Johnny does everything he can for the fans and to further the sport. I'm sure he did not set out to screw anyone over, so why not consider that before starting a thread on here telling Johnny to F-off in the title because you did not get what you wanted from him. He might very well have a valid reason for not delivering.

Ray Hansen of www.poolactiontv.com has done a lot of good things for pool. He has held multiple charity events and is always helping pool players and room owners with their events and travel.

Ray has his finger on the pulse of the pool world and you could do yourself a favor by connecting with him. By connecting with him, it will certainly make your journey more pleasant and profitable.

You can even check out his Google Calendar and copy it to yours so that you know what events he has and how your event might be incorporated into easy scheduling.

Yeah no one can speak for Johnny and why he didn't fix these problems, but he had ample time to explain why it wasn't fixed yet, if he was busy he could have given these guys peace of mind and let them know he was going to fix it. Don't think I'm a pro hater or Johnny hater he is one of my favorite pros.

Good job Ray, and Championship Cloth. Ray, you certainly did the right thing here. I have no idea what the story is with Johnny. I think Buddy could have conveyed thanks to those who made purchases or contributed items to be auctioned. I don't know that he hasn't in some way, but I haven't seen it on AZ.
 
I think the term you are looking for is PAID for, Not wanted. Took the money and ran with it. I agree I cant pretend to know what happened, but I can tell you that there was none, nadda, zip, zero contact from him after getting the money. I can guarantee that no one is so busy that they cant call, email, DM, or respond to a thread on the board. He knew there was issues, but didn't respond at all. Maybe to others, but not to me. After three months, I think it can be said.

What would have happened if it wasn't him, and say myself or Barking4action that sold something and never responded. Would you defend us in the same way?

And to make it clear, the only reason I have it right now is Bigtruck (thanks again), and has nothing do to with JA. If not for him, how long would I have to wait? How long is acceptable to you? I tried to do something nice, and so did he.

I understand I said that in a way I shouldn't. It was my way of showing my frustration and appreciation towards bigtruck.

I'm not defending JA, I'm saying it's become too commonplace on this forum for these threads to smear people. Some people do deserve it, because they set out to screw people from the get go. However even in those threads, people who have ZERO stake in the situation jump in and take sides and talk smack just to be talking smack. It is the dogpile, mob mentality.
Johnny has a known track record of as JAM worded it bending over backwards for people. All I'm saying that should be considered. If you don't think so, then so be it. Your call.
At some point down the road, if JA comes through, I'll look forward to reading the other common AZ forum flip flop thread where Johnny is back to being a good guy, and everybody being glad he came forward to fix it.

It's BS that you never received what was owed but what is really some froggernockle BS is that it was done with Buddy's name attached to it.... Buddy is a stand up guy with a stellar reputation, he's simply good people. If this were the other way around with Buddy soliciting to help Johnny out you would have received the items post haste.
