I think it was Rubyron who posted it (forgive me if I'm wrong), but plz put the Chewbacca saving CW from CD skit back up there.

It was a 'short' of Corey and Charlie standing next to a pool table. They talk about the "forfeit" Corey takes a swing and then the Chewtabacca character whisks Corey away. You didnt see that?

Were you really surprised? It's par for the course around here. The forum content is constantly being censored by AzBilliards for reasons of favoritism, politics, or viewpoints that differ from their own.

IMO a thread or post should not be censored or deleted for any reason except to put it in the appropriate forum section, or for threats of violence, excessive or unnecessary name calling, vulgarity, or discrimination (or related racism etc).

When something legitimately does need to be censored, then only the offending posts should be removed, not the entire thread, unless there is absolutely no other way. It only takes a few more moments to do.

I agree that thread (and some others on here recently) may have gotten out of hand, but deleting the whole entire thread does nothing more than protect that guilty.

What ever happened to just locking it?

It got out of hand with some of the photoshop magic that was going on in there. It went way beyond discussion of the alleged incident and people involved.

Locking it was not going to bring it back into line.

And no, I was not going to go through a 17 page thread picking and choosing the posts that were out of line and leaving the thread so that it could continue to spiral in the direction it was going.

Thank you Mike. Posting accusations of crimes on a public forum only leads to stirring up emotion and vigilanteeism. Threats of violence and harm can only lead to worse crimes. Is that what you want?
If a crime was commited go to a lawyer, the police, the district attorney, etc.
Who is to stop anyone from making any accusations of prepetrating a crime. I sympathize with any victim but just to make accusations over the forum does nothing except satisfy ones psyche.
I had a friend once who broke up with his girl. SHe accused him of sexual abuse of the children. Only thing it was found out they had no kids. They had cats. Oh so then she accused him of abusing the cats. Sexual abuse of cats?
I have an Italian friend who went to the beach. Euros are known to wear the skimpiest of beachwear. He was arrested on a sexual charge of exposing himself in public when some older woman complained to the police. Now he is considered a sexual criminal.
I know this is absurd and I dont mean to make light of what happened to SM but please take your case to the authorities not to a public forum.

Charlie is a public figure in the billiard world and a representative of the sport itself. I don't see anything wrong with letting everyone know what the deal is...
 
The thread got locked because I was outta line. I was trying to get cheap laughs with photoshop cartoons.
 
But that is just the thing. No matter how much everyone wants to believe Marissa, she has no proof of this.

If and when she files a police report, then we will have something. Until then, we have her saying that it happened.

If I were to post something saying that you did something similar but I had no proof, what would you do? What would you do when everyone was just looking for a reason to hate you and they latched on to that post as their lightning rod to hate you?

I wasn't in Marissa's room when this incident supposedly happened. And I doubt anyone else from the forums was. So until we have something solid to go on, lets ease up a little.

If what was claimed to happen really happened, then I am sure that the parties involved will have to answer to someone.
