We have had a great response so far for "The Decider" featuring a classic match up between Shane Vanboening and Earl Strickland. To be held at the Eagles16 lodge in Helena, Montana on Friday August 2nd, Saturday August 3rd and Sunday August 4th.

As a result of fantastic response we feel the need to give some more info. As of right now all the VIP seats are sold out and we have a waiting list. The only seats available for the event will be general admission only and will be for sale at the event only, seating will be limited but we are working on that also. General admission will be just $25.00 per person that will gain entry to the event for all three days. The schedule of events will be as follows.

Friday 2nd - 8.00pm (EST) - 9-Ball race to 30

Saturday 3rd - 4.00pm (EST) - 8-Ball raceto 30

sunday 4th -4.00pm (EST) - 10-Ball race to30

Of course there can be only one winner of "The Decider" but each set wil be worth $1,500.00 to the winner so there will always be something to play for. Rules will follow as we get closer to the date.

We have a number of people who will be traveling from out of town and I have been asked for advice for hotel stays during the event. We have negotiated a great rate for that time of year in Helena with the Super 8 where the Legends and Champions crew will be staying. This is a nicer indoor Super 8 that is located just 0.3 miles from the event so very easy to get to and from. The special rate is $59.88 for a double or single room and is normally $78.88. Please support them if possible. Mention Legends and Champions Pool Tour and promo code MP0007. Their address is 2200 11th Ave, Helena, MT 59601 and phone number is 406-443-2450.

"The Decider" will be a Pay Per View event also and brought to you by POV POOL and available for purchase at http://www.povpool.com/ and advance ticket sales info will be announced as we get closer. PPV prices are as follows

Weekend Pass = $35.00

Saturday & Sunday only pass = $25.00

Sunday only = $15.00

These matches will be played on a Diamond Bar Table.

Thanks to one of our sponsors Kamui the first 100 people who buy the weekend pass will recieve a $30.00 voucher that will be good for any of the Kamui tip including th new Kamui Clear (Retail $30.00) so this would be reason enough to sign up early. Thanks to Kamui for their help and support not only this event but for all the other events that they help in the pool and billiards industry.

Of course this special event in Helena would not be possible without the help and support from our Major Sponsors who are really making this happen, Shellie's Country Cafe and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. We are also greatful to our other great sponsors http://www.azbilliards.com/ , The Super 8 of Helena, MT and Century Gaming.

We are all looking forward to this event and is set to be a battle that we will all remember. More info to come and if you have any questions please feel free to contact Mark Cantrill of The Legends and Champions Pool Tour at cantrillmark@yahoo.com or call 480-612-7732.

Congratulations, Mark! VIP sold out, 2 months in advance, how awesome is that?

Looking forward to hearing all about this event, it should be great.

I feel bad for Earl already

Man that's just bad karma.
Somewhere out there is some 2 year old kid who will be the best player on earth in a few decades,
and he'll play shane, and we'll be the old guys trying to pull for shane while this kid's fan club
is busy telling us how shane's gonna get horsef@#$#ed.

Let's wait and see, Earl's top gear isn't completely out of reach
and a small table negates any issues with aging eyes.

Is this risky?

Sounds like a great planned event. Is it risky with Earl? Is there a chance he's a no show after going through all the work? Is there a backup plan if he doesn't show for whatever reason?

And for the posters feeling sorry for Earl. I tend to feel sorry for the person who has to put up with Earl for 3 days straight!!

Yeah, pretty amazing but not to fool you too much we are only talking about 45 VIP seats so its not like I sold out a a few hundred. However I am still happy with the results at this point. Thanks for your support as always.

Yeah its more due to other events conflicting an I am not just talking about Bonus Ball, evens at the location, TAR etc havemade it so I had more time to plan this than usual.

As far as Earl not showing up, thereis always a chance that something can happen but I have worked with Earl MANY times and he has never let me down so I feel comfortable there. I would hav a back up plan that would be a great event also for another great player and a match that I may do inthe future that I don't believe has been done before :)

Thank you also for your support.

Looks like a great event, Mark. I'm looking forward to reading all about it.

Buy yourself a camera, will you? I like pictures, dag nab it! :grin-square:

Sounds like you've got all bases covered. I like Earl, but have heard some stories (who hasn't). Hope it all goes as planned and is a great event!

I have some great pics on my phone and am willing to take more but I don't know how to post pics on here.

Look, pre-selling 45 VIP tickets, 2 months in advance, for a pool show in an Eagles Club in Montana.....that's a big deal, at least to me.

Well done. And very cool.

Now I'm off to my Eagles Club for a beer and some practice. And a little hockey game, Go Bruins!

I sent Jack Madden an e-mail about this event, but I did not hear back from him. I hope he is okay. I know he's love to go to see this.

I would like to start selling general admission seats to see how they went but that would mean planning all the seating without being there. Like I said I am happy so far with the results

sweeeet.... Great ! I'm going to love to watch this... thanks for setting it up ! especially the 8 ball part. Love it.

Great to hear Mark, Bravo!

What model table and set-up will be used?

Can someone buy PPV each day individually or just Sunday as your OP states?

I wasn't able to find a purchase link for the weekend PPV, am I incompetent or is it not yet available for purchase. I know it's still a ways off, but I know I'm going to watch and figured I'd try for the freebie.

It's great to read of a super match being put together, and also great to read of the interest shown.

With 2 monster players like this, I have to ask, why a bar table?

From an earlier thread by bfdlad: "Most know that These Champions have played challenge matches on different sized tables. Earl beat Shane when they played on a TAR mach on a 10 foot table, then Shane won the TAR match on a 9 foot table and so it only makes sense to play the "Decider" on bar table with a mix a different games."

Thankyou, You are correct.
