The GSB cue...

Hello all again,

Like I have mentioned in a previous thread when posting Alton's caps, I have met Eric (Fatboy) and while spending a great time with him we also took 'some' cues out and I took some photos...

I could feel that however the entire collection stands very close to Eric and he would say something about each and every cue, there was one cue that made it into the middle of the table, that just merely shined brighter, looked sharper than anything before... My personal opinion is that it belongs to the close group of the most unique and appreciated cues...

I'll let Eric tell you more in case he wants to, I am posting the pictures for him but I really couldn't keep my opinion for myself... seeing this cue in person is a moment when you feel like 'nothing else matters'... It really is...

Very nice love the veneers. That's a classy looking cue. Thanks for sharing your pictures!

like I said in a post a few weeks ago, its my favorite cue in my collection.

I never had all my cues out at the same time until David came over, I never counted them or had a reason to bust them all out at the same time. Seeing them did change my opinion on a few, I have perhaps 3 or 4 I'd like to sell and with out a doubt this cue is my favorite of the lot. Dont' ys love the butt of this cue, the rust/corrosion on the screw is a great touch, that hardcore "This is Ames mister" feel to it. And yes I do play with it often, it plays great-if there was no risk of losing it, it would be my daily player.

thanks David for this thread. David posted my iPhone pics of it and they sucked, I wanted everyone to see the wood, veneers, details. I hope you like and enjoy it.

thanks

eric

PS: isnt the green on the cloth just great? its snooker cloth, we put the cues on the 12' box, there wasnt enough room on the 9' box. Good thing I had it. LOL.

Eric,

I love the GSB, and can clearly see some other great ones peeking out at us in the pictures. Thanks for sharing the shots. I look forward to my next trip to Vegas, I`m callin` ahead.

Take care,

Will

Fatboy: There was a guy in Jersey that had a nice collection of only Gus's cues and i remember one that Gus had made for his Daughter that had her name on it "Gina" and it was Rosewood.

It is so nice to see others appreciating this cue, I am a 'Returning customer' to this thread also - I've been at college for 12 hours today but returned a few times to the PC room to see this cue and a few others when the time allowed.

P.S.: the snooker cloth has turned out great, it's been such a good idea - the cues just won't blend into the background but rather pop out of there instead, the details are really easy to see and seperate, I wish I could always take cue pictures on that cloth...

How many cues are in your collection Eric? Very nice cue. I have never played snooker but I am a big fan, perhaps you could show me sometime if I ever make it out there, I am sure you can loan me a cue to use. :grin-square:

Eric,

This is a very beautiful cue. As a fairly new father, I would think one of my greatest accomplishments would be to build something with one of my sons. I can only imagine the pride Gus must have had in watching Barry grow as a boy into a man and follow in his father's footsteps to create a masterpiece such as this.

Thank you for sharing,
Chris
