when i get back to dallas that is as far east as i will be going
i will be in la for a day or two then las vegas
then i will be headed to dallas,but i will be stopping anywhere there is action
assuming i have not already lost my $10,ooo allowance and my convertible
on the other hand if i am winning.i will be allowed to stay out longer
with Mark Griffin inviting me over I may not last long as he may play one game double or nothing

yesterday i talked to laurie to let her know i was coming and now i am really getting excited
my wife june and i used to go see the righteous brothers with the franklins
they were such fun,but with the passing of jerry we quit visiting las vegas
until yesterday i didn't realize how much we were missing
now i think i am gonna fly my wife out there to drive home with me
pool or no pool i am really looking forward to old time fun

he was quite a guy,I used to caddy for him at the golf
many stories about him floating around
some of them are a little exaggerated,but not all

Funny I like to play with the best players,and see if i can win with the nuts
Outrunning the nuts is what they do
At 70 I have a stamina problem and can play very short sets only
sometimes only 1 set pr day
I realize that to some of you young guys that this is not what you like
But at least I will play for $500 and i can play each day as long as my
health and bankroll last
I know some of you critical or cynical guys may be afraid that this is a gaffe
but have no fear Denny Glenn will be traveling with me and wants to stake
people to play me
So as you know,you can not lose when you have none of your own money
at risk
I say this to allay your fears
The car may not be ready so it may be Thursday before I leave
who else wants to play? where are they actually playing now?between LA

There is some action in Northern Ca. I play at Hard Times Billiards in Sacramento and will bet. I am 75 years old.

Most of the pool rooms I go into have no one in them.
It is depressing.
People used to hang in the pool room. Now you need an appointment to get a game.
There are a few players in PHX at Kolby's. One is a car dealer that I give 10 to 7 that will gamble. Most of the rest don't bet unless they have the nuts.
There are a couple of players in El Paso and ABQ as well.
It's not like it used to be.

where i used to watch you play when I was in college
at North texas
I played a relative of yours up there ,but he was no where near your speed
The picture of pool in its present state is accurate and presents a dismal picture to those of us
who liked the way it used to be
I never could play good,but with huge spots I sometimes won
I wish i could play like you,yours is the most creative game of one pock that I ever saw
I doubt that i will make it ruidoso but it would be nice to see you

Sacramento is a little too far north ,I am making a straight trip to Dallas from Vegas
possibly stopping in Phoenix or even oklahoma city,but Sacramento would add
3 days to the trip
i will tell denny you mentioned his name,I guess you knew Pete too

The only guy on tv that has told the truth about anything in 30 years.
It would be nice to meet you Dean if you make it to Phoenix. Some notable players who will give you action are Frost, Ellerman or Pettipiece, they are the best players and will bet something of course. There are others who will play too but might be weary of a stranger wanting big weight and some older guys who play dirt cheap like $5-$10 a game.
