I became a citizen at the start of the year and 3 weeks later recieve an email from the marines,
WOW I thought Iraq here I come LOL,
Well this was not the case and I agreed to do an exhibition at Cherry Point, North Carolina Marine base for two days. This should be a fun trip and I know there are a couple of readers on here that are based there.

I just thought this was a funny story to share

Thanks
Tony Crosby

Congrats on your citizenship. How long did it take? Homeland Security must be making it tough these days.

All I can say is... SEMPER FI!!!
We never had anything cool like that happen when I was still in.....dammit!

I could have got it about three years ago but as I was already representing the US in major events around the World I didnt realy see the point in me spending the money, Due to being snubbed by the BCA last year for the World 10 ball I had to act fast and get it. I cant afford to miss invites and oppertunity's like this and after representing the US in Taiwan and Manila I didnt see the there being a problem but what do I know LOL

It took me 8 weeks so very quick.

Crosby would last about 5 mins in the Marines. This is the guy who tried to enlist at OLd Navy for gods sake.
He should go in though in my opinion and might lose 10 lbs of cheetos off his flabby ass. He was once a very fit and attractive man but the age is getting to him a little.
I believe he should get back to chasing sheep around the Dales like the old days and he will be fine.

Good for you Big T, enjoy and you are doing a great job for the guys watching over us. more pros should be trying to do this kind of thing with or without pay. JMO> :)

Born in England but now a naturalized American citizen, Tony? Me, too, although I became an American citizen in 1974. Welcome to the club.

I was in the SAS there in England for a while. No when I say SAS I don't mean the Spaecial Air Service (Navy Seals of the UK) I was in a military group that we only had to show up on Saturdays And Sundays.

Hey Tony, hope you and the family are well. Have'nt seen you since Turning Stone last year. Have you heard from Richard? Congrats on your citizenship. Drop me a line sometime, with pics.

Tony,

Is this under the USO (United Service Organizations) umbrella? If so, you may have a very good thing going here -- not only for yourself but for the troops as well.

I was involved with the planning and preparation of two USO Bob Hope trips in the 70s out of the 63rd Military Airlift Wing @ Norton Air Force Base. I can tell you that the money is good and can be on-going "if" it is determined that your performance is a morale booster. The USO "could possibly" want you to cover all the branches of service.

This is something you will never forget and you will experience an esprit de corp like no other. If you post pictures with explanations here on AZ it would be appreciated and be a morale booster for us too I'm sure!!

A Citizen? A Floridian to boot...cant wait to hear "ya'll" in his "accent"...LMFAO!!!

Good luck with the Jarheads Tony, remember Semper Fi, do or die!!

CONGRATULTIONS Tony, I helped two former employees from Burma get there citizenship a couple years ago and they are so happy to be American citizens. They were forced to leave Burma under a death threat from the Myanmar regime and had no real citizenship for ten years. It means a great deal to them to be citizens as I am sure it does for you! Entertaining the troops that help protect our freedom is a great way of promoting pool and should be a very rewarding experience for yourself at the same time. Sounds like a win win situation to me!!

Welcome, Mon! Proud to have you. Takes a special personality to leave the homeland and take up residence in another Country...don't think I could do it.

Hey Guys,
I am heading there today and I am very excited, I am doing this exhibition for free, They are covering my expenses which is fine, it would be nice to get paid but I do feel like I am contributing my time to a good cause.

WOW SJm i was born in 74 LOL.
