I have seen a 16 yr old run 8 racks, straight, of 10-ball with ease, on an 8 foot table. He was playing the ghost for $20 a rack...Opie said:I got an accustats tape where Jimmy Mataya asks Danny DiLiberto what the most ever racks of 10-ball ran was. Diliberto says that Detroit Whitey ran 9 straight racks of 10-ball. IMO I think that is stronger than 13 or 14 racks of 9-ball considering the break factor of a 10-ball rack.

freddy the beard said:Whitey did that in a ring game in Johnston City in the 60s against the best players in the world. When Whitey broke on the tenth game, the cue ball jumped the table, and Whitey immediately quit.

I do remember for sure the first digit was a 2, which made it a little unnecessary to remember the second digit because my 7 was a little short. I'd bet a million dollars he wasn't lying.

wow - hard to make a ball on the break in 6-ball.roncook said:ron cook, "Bucktooth's" brother here ..... Califonia
When I was 17 years of age I ran 12 racks of 6 ball @ $5/game and my opponet quit and I had not missed when my opponet quit. A few years later I ran 6 racks of eight ball and 2 racks of One Pocket back to back.
Recently at age 58 I ran 71 balls in all in 1 pocket without missing.
(I set up a "L" shape pattern around one corner pocket & shot all the balls in the same corner pocket and set them back up again after I ran 15 balls).
Try that drill and let me know if anyone can run more than 71 balls without
missing in 1 corner pocket?

Let me answer that one ..... About 10 years ago I played him on his table which has tight pockets and he beat me playing one pocket 21 games in a
row. At the time my stroke was all over the place and my eyes were failing me and I had not been playing. No one in the world could do that I
will take that bet from anyone and they could all line up.
About the same time a few months later I played him one pocket & nine
ball on a table in my billiard room in Castro Valley and I beat him in a race to 10 in both 9 ball and one pocket, and it was a real quiet in the room
and he was not saying much. Its amazing how great the home town
table advantage is.
Today I would say I could beat him in 9 ball but one pocket would be a battle again unless I played on my table.
Twice I drew him in a one pocket tournament, the first time I played him
I beat him, and the same day I beat George Michaels, tall Paul and I lost
to Go Away Jesse & Palmer. I ended up 4th in the tournament, John Henderson won, Billy Palmer took 2nd, Go Away Kid took 3rd & I took fourth in 1994 at California Billiards and everyone was there.
The 2nd time I played the him he beat me at Family Billiards in San Francisco playing one pocket.

out in San Ramon, CA at "Crown Billiards" previously name was "Felts."

He was from Detroit (where I am originally from) but also travelled a lot - he may have encountered Bucktooth on the road somewhere or Bucktooth may have come through "The Rack" at some point? I can't recall but I know he spoke of him as a great player/hustler/character...Roy had a thousand war stories - I could listen for hours...
