To put this in the right perspective this has absolutely nothing to do with posting the money, or not posting the money. There have been many times where I had a choice to post or not post, and I chose to not post for reasons I believe to be right. This has everything to do with right and wrong, and integrity. And it’s sad to say that everyone has a price, everyone.
This is the way it really went down.
Scott and I were partners 50%-50% plain and simple, and everyone in Pool Sharks knew it including Dippy. There was non stop action in Pool Sharks for weeks, due to a poker player/ pool player named Dippy Dave. To refer to the gambling at Pool Sharks during this time as the survival of the fittest is a safe assessment. Dippy knew that Scott and I were partners, he even nicknamed me “Coach” because I was advising Scott, and my rep for matching up well preceded me. So to add a little humor to it he nicknamed me Coach.
Scott and Dippy played against oneanother a countless # of hrs. playing both 9 ball and onepocket, and all the action they had was good action, in every sense of the word. Both Scott and Dippy showed good gambling etiquette through the entire time of the action at Pool Sharks, and Dippy played hard and and played with class, I was really impressed with his ability to stay composed , understanding the adversity that he faced with losing and playing a champion. But that changed the last day of their battle.
The last match they played was Dippy getting the 5, the break, and ball in hand after the break. In addition to that he was getting 3 games on the wire, playing 15 ahead. The bet was 50K a set, Scott was up 2 sets and Dippy wanted to play another set but didn’t have enough cash to pay off if he lost. So he came to ME and said that all he had was 25K and his Rolex. He said that he would pay the 25K and give me his Rolex if he lost, and then we would go to the bank after the set and he would then pay the other 25K. I agreed to the terms and told Scott to play. Now you would have to be brainless to think that I wasn’t involved in the center by me authorizing Dippy’s request and telling Scott to play, wouldn’t you?? Which later on Dippy said that he bet Scott and I wasn’t involved. Oh by the way I also bet Dippy 5K extra on the final set. So they played, Scott was up 14 games and was preparing to play a shot that could win the set for him, Chris Bartrom (a standup class act) a friend of Dippy’s was asked to call the hit.Scott made the 9 ball and Dippy called a bad hit, but Chris called it a good hit (which it was) and Dippy said that he wasn’t going to pay and unscrewed his cue. Dippy and Scott argued their position and Dippy refused to bend, so I interceded and convinced Scott to spot the 9 ball and continue. Dippt won the next 3 games and Scott had a temporary melt down, that’s when he spit on the floor (not at Dippy) and Dippy said that Scott spit at him. Really (bullshit) Well Scotts worst nightmare came to life and Dippy got even and 2 games ahead. Scott battled back and eventually won the set, Dippy left the pool room and said that he would pay after he rested, which he never did.
Scott also bought a SUV from Dippy which Dippy was paid for and was supposed to give him the title, which he never did and kept Scottt’s 10K on top of it and refuses to give Scott anything. Now that’s colder than the 50K stiff.
I'm 66 years old and haven't played 10 hrs of pool in the last year, but I would love to play Dippy and roast his ass. But we have to put up:sorry:
