That is a very nice event. When I lived in Sacramento the one thing I noticed about Sacramento Pool was all the Room Owners worked in a Single Direction, worked with one another, they realized it was beneficial to work together. I recall one day being in Terry Place's on Fruitridge Road, and he had flyier's for another room event in a few weeks.
why do you like playing?
This is what's cool about pool:
The action gets started at 8:30 a.m. sharp each Tuesday morning, with the resounding clack of a cue ball on a break.
The game is eight ball. Solids and stripes...
...There is no smoking, food or drink allowed in this pool hall, which features white walls, white linoleum floors and an antiseptic cleanliness.
Even cursing is verboten. When an occasional profanity slips out in the heat of battle over an easy shot missed, it's strictly PG-13 stuff. A clock radio plays classical music in the background.
One wouldn't mistake the level of play for Willie Mosconi running the table at a high-stakes Vegas tournament, or even Paul Newman portraying Fast Eddie Felson in "The Color of Money"...

Because,It is HOT & SEXY!!!:thumbup::thumbup:
Northern California, Sacramento, South to Medesto and west to the Bay Area, All the pool rooms respect the weekends and yearly tournaments.
It has been that way since I can remember. No one plans a 'special' event without first discussing it with the other rooms.
Pool is Cool in Northern California
Pool is cool because:
--it shows you the cause and effect of what you do. (Same, really, as "you can't fool whitey" above.)
--it is the Great Equalizer (age, gender, physical size or handicaps, muscle strength- these aren't auto determinates of skill or performance).
--practice makes better, and better gives self confidence. (and joy).
--you can never be perfect at it. (whatever your level, there's always more to learn.)
--the skills, confidence, and mental strength you get from playing pool help you in every area of your life.
--you always have a familiar place to go to, with the same familiar characters, no matter what city or country you find yourself in.
