Thoughts and prayers for Guy Coraccio..............aka Guycrunch here on AZ.

i'm back

Hello all. I am now home and I’ll give you an update. As you know I have been in and out of the hospitals since early February. It started off as necratizing pancreatitus and went on from there. Since the end of july I have been sent home with a feeding tube in my nose and the equipment do it by myself. I then had my gall bladder removed (which they tell me was dead) and the feeding tube taken out. I was sent home but within a week something in my bloodwork had me back in the hospital. It turns out I was loaded with quite a few strains of bacteria. I was treated with antibiotics intravenously thru my picc line. I eventually was released home and given two antibiotics orally and two by intravenous. I was given the equipment to do this myself. That was 5 weeks ago.

This week they took me off three of the antibiotics and the last one should stop next week. I still have one ir drain coming from my left lower belly but hopefully that will also come out next week. My voice is still very hoarse so I don’t talk on the phone much.

When all this started in February I weighed 238 pounds, I now weigh 165 pounds. My pants went from a size 42 to a size 36. Today I tried to put on my wedding ring and it just falls off. I should be able to start driving in two weeks. I did take the wife’s car out for a short drive last week and it went well. The big problem is I don’t know if I can get in and out of the vette.

There is a lot more to the story but I don’t want to bore you. I am overwhelmed with the support I have received on the forum and thank everyone. It’s nice to know I have so many friends. Hopefully I can get back to posting regularly soon.

Thank you all,

Guy,
Great to hear you are doing much better buddy!
Hope you feel better every day. When you feel like talking, give me a call to shoot the shit.

I'm new on the forum, and don't know you at all, but just to know you play pool is enough!
Sorry to read of your frightening and debilitating ordeal, I bet your family and friends are worried.
Hope you will be back at the table soon and sinkin' 'em with the rest of us!

Great

That is all great news, it sounds like you are one tough " Guy " , keep building up your strength .

Guy;

GREAT to see you posting, buddy!!!

Man, what an ordeal you've been going through. It's amazing some of the hands we get dealt.

Hang in there and get the rest of the way better and if that Vette becomes too much of a problem for you . . . ;);)

best,

Nice!!!

what year is yours?

here's my 68.

was at Barrett-Jackson this July at Mohegan Sun hoping to find a '59 or '60. The biggest sale there was a silver 68 with sidepipes and a few other *rare* factory options like tilt, telescopic wheel, and leather, and of course, an L-88 engine. Car went for $628k

really glad to hear you're making such good progress!

best,
brian kc

well brian, here's a funny story. i had 68 roadster with sidepipes and cragars. i bought it cheap as it had some damage. i fixed it up, painted it, and sold it in 1975 for $3800 and i thought i robbed the guy! that was my down payment on my house. here is my 1998 convertible:
