Titlist Hoppe Pro for sale perfect for conversion or just to play with.

I'm confused

Maybe i'm a n00b and dont know any better but in the link provided with your post, you solicited opinions on what this cue would be worth. It looks like alot of people who responded wouldnt pay more than 300-400 for it. Why the 550 price now? Also you didnt mention in this specific post:

"I just checked the cue and everything is perfect except the butt crack."

This is something I think a potential buyer, especially someone who was gonna convert it, would want to know upfront along with the measurements, no?

So why the higher price for what people are valuing it at when there is clearly a material flaw in the cue?

thanks

i'm wondering too. in the link there's only a few people who mentioned the price of $500 or above. most, with the damage to the cue, were saying WAY LESS.

where'd the $550 come from?

I can see where vass is pulling the number from....it's a sought after full splice titlist blank that in amazing quality especially for conversion.

As mentioned in the previous thread, I've had a chance to inspect and played with this cue and it's a really nice piece...all points are near perfect. The crack in the butt should not a be a problem for most cue builder as the butt is way oversized!! I think this piece is priced right according to what they bring in the market lately as bad as it is...although I don't mind having it for $3-400.

Regards.

First of all, there is no telling how deep that crack goes but from the looks of the picture, it likely goess well into the wood. The result? You would have to chop the blank below the points, add a handle, and replace the buttsleeve with a new piece of rosewood. Its an easy fix for a cuemaker. But it lowers the value of your titlist.

As a result, I too am confused as to how $400 seemed to be the top value placed on this cue and now we're looking at a price tag that's a full $150 higher.

I believe some people got it wrong though.

The cue is mine and I can price it the way I like it :)

Offers will be considered as well.

so whats the point in asking for ppl's opinions?

Keep in mind those people who said "id pay 300-400" have no expressed desire for the cue.

Here are 2 scenerios....

"I'm not actively looking for a blank for conversion, but I would pay 3-400 for that one."

As opposed to...

"I'm in the market for a good conversion blank and would pay 500 for the right one."

I think someone who has been looking for a good cue for conversion would be happy to work with Vass and his asking price.

Ditto. If you were going to price it how you like, why ask us what we think its worth?! If anything it just makes you look like you are blatantly trying to rip people off by setting a value for all to see and then adding $150 to that price.

Again, I'm confused.

Are you open to trades? PM me and we can talk. I'm always in the market for another Hoppe.

I also have bunches of factory pieces such as black fibre for the joint rings, thick black fibre butt caps, original ivory, pins, inserts, brass joint collars, ferrules, etc. I only use the stuff with the Titlist cues. Its kind of neat having all of it around. Heck, I'm working on 3 right now and have two of my own that I need to be converting instead of typing.....

good conversion??? the butt's crack! he didn't even know it was a "good" conversion until someone told him to measure it's diameters. it's only "good" because it's thick enough to be turned down.

he followed that advice but then jacks the price up to $550 when people were saying $400's a reach??

I just got their strategy to jeopardize the price and then steal the cue.
Well this is ain't gonna happen with my cue :).
