Yeah, you should be properly attired for such an event, but maybe he just didn't have the time or money to get the proper clothing. The fact that he was there to honor Rempe is more important

My opinion is that Mark Wilson is a pompous @$$ and I look forward to the destruction of the Mosconi Cup team and wilsons ego this year. Hopefully next year I can again root for the American team (with a different captain at the helm). wilson is already planning his 'At least we lost with dignity(he hopes), its not about winning' speech.

The Cup is a joke not because of how the players act or what they wear, though that does matter a little. Having a competition (the MC) in which no one has to compete to be on the team which is supposed to represent the best competitors who have competed in various competitions over the year and have risen to become the best that this country has to offer makes this years cup the biggest joke since the cups creation.

It actually seems like some of the players have been hiding from competition this year. I think wilson wants it this way so his huge ego isn't questioned, and when they fail he will say what all good losers use as an excuse:well we are building something here, its not about winning (that's the only thing it is!), they acted like champions(he hopes), blah, blah blah.

A real man would take the best players, and actually coach them. Put down the law that bad behavior isn't acceptable and will be enforced. But as we can already see with Bergman, wilson doesn't have what it takes to keep the young guys in check yet alone a veteran player. So he took what he considers the easy way out, get a bunch of choir boys and try to keep them in check then spout off about how it isn't about winning.

I have personally visited the facility at Lindenwood, spent time with Mark Wilson, spent time with Justin Bergman and several other of the Mosconi nominees both as a road dog and at events they played in.

A large part of this years criteria is sportsmanship and bringing a good attitude along with your talent. Mark and Don have both character and training regiments that are unparallelled in the sport. I personally can't wait to see what this team can do.

What an absolute load of old B* * * * *KS.
Mark pompous? This is an insult to someone who has worked tirelessly to create not only a team to compete at the highest level but a plan to give pool a better chance to survive in the USA beyond the end of this decade.
Messrs Shuff, Bergman, Hall, Sossei and Dominguez have been in action for most of the summer and John Schmidt has started his campaign to peak in Decemberwith a cameo appearance at the NY 14.1 tournament.

No other MC Captain has ever had to face the workload that Mark has. He organised PR stops in San Diego and Louisville but things are on a hiatus at the moment solely because of financial limitations. But that doesn't mean that nothing is happening.

Why don't you just wait and see what happens. On paper the US are outsiders, But matches are not played on paper but on a battlefield of slate.

Euro have a ranking system that can throw up some anomolies.
They are faced with the possibility that the could be without Darren Appleton, Chris Melling, Karl Boyes, Mika Immonen and in their place a collection of consistent quarter finalists who have never won. a major event.

So Team USA have got a real chance to reach a happy ending. Don't keep trying to wreck their self belief.
Justin Bergman is a young man and the world of some of his critics has changed since they were his age. This team has character and those of you who will be able to watch it are in for a surprise.

Does Justin Bergman have a good sponsor yet? If not, some company is losing out on a good thing. Look what SVB has done for Cuetec. J.Bergman plays all games well, plays in a lot of tournaments, is in action on stream a lot, and last but not least, he will most likely be on this years MC Team. Seems to me like someone better scoop him up fast. Johnnyt

I agree I know he's got a few small ones but nothing big back when he broke his predator he was looking for new shaft told him too get a ob he got two pred shafts off two of my buddys but when he come out too a tourney I invited him too told me they both felt dead they didn't hit like his other shaft so he got a ob and loved it he also won the tourney I invited him too it was in troy missouri anyway so maybe ob should give him call :thumbup:

I guarantee if you ever met him and spoke with him you would be so embarrassed you ever wrote this. Mark Wilson is the best person I have ever met involved with pool. One of the good guys and a good all around man. I believe he has the best credentials to coach this team and in the future.

Wow, I love witnessing the pool supporting people on this forum.. The bright side is at least I can finally stop wondering why Pool has done nothing but go down the pooper in the last few decades.

I often think of this forum like people driving with road rage.

Would people be so rude if not isolated in the privacy of their own automobile?

Would people be so rude if not protected by some obscure log on ID and avatar?

You without a doubt do not know Mark Wilson nor the work he has out in attempting to develop a cohesive team. Mark is one of the few people I know involved with the "pool world" who puts the game before himself and does everything he can to IMPROVE the game and its image! He can't lead all these players by the hand ..... they are adults.... and although it sounds dumb to some but how about finding out why Justin was dressed the way he was prior to going off on Mark, the Mosconi Cup and the players in general! I have read numerous comments from everybody it seems about what a bad job Mark is doing, so I have a challenge to all.... come up with constructive ideas to make things better....help the funding needed to make the public appearances .... encourage the process etc. I don't pretend to have the answers but I am tired of hearing all the b*&^*ing and flat out rude comments....to give one of my favorite sayings..IF YOU DON'T HAVE SOMETHING GOOD TO SAY OR CONTRIBUTE, DON'T SAY ANYTHING followed by IT'S ONE THING TO BE IGNORANT AND ANOTHER TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND PROVE IT.!!!!!!!!!
