Tom Ferry (Old Has Been) Has Passed

Like everyone else, I will miss Tom's posts. Although I don't post much, I am a constant lurker. OHB had a wit about him, plus years of great experiences that he was willing to share. i really enjoyed his presence. He will be missed by all.

His spirit will continue in this great game of ours - he showed the way pool is loved and becomes a lifelong travel.

My condolences to his family.

This is truly sad news. As everyone else on here, I enjoyed Tom's posts. I was fortunate enough to have met him in person at the DCC. He sure did love pool and he loved the DCC just as much I think. His enthusiasm about the DCC room last yr was contagious.

As much as Tom loved pool, he loved his family even more and my sincere condolences go out to them. :(

When you saw the name OldHasBeen on a post you immediately and anxiously open it. Didn't matter if it was a new thread by him or a reply, you just had to see what he was going to say next. This board will not be the same without him. Rest In Peace Old Has Been.

I am deeply saddened by his passing. Although I never met him, his insight, wisdom, and shared stories brightened my day. His passion for pool shined through each post. We will all miss him dearly.

Tom, may you rest in peace and may your loved ones be comforted in knowing you have a lot of people on these boards who cared for you.

I am in shock to learn about Tom Ferry`s demise.I did not expect that it will be this soon.May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to his family and Hemicudis.

I'm really sad to hear this, but I think he showed real class by not making a big thing of it. I always read every word of his posts and always ended up chuckling, and learning something.

Just yesterday, in fact, I was thinking about the trip to St. Louis and environs that I'm planning in a couple of months and was trying to figure out how I'd sell my wife on a stop at the Break in Cahokia, and how much I might be willing to donate to OHB for some 1P wisdom. We'll all miss him big-time, I'm sure.

So very sad we lost OHB he stood for so much more than just a poolplayer. OHB RIP my brother, you will be missed by many. Our prayers go out to the family.

Rest in Peace OHB. And go with Gods speed. If you run into some of the old timers like Johnny Ervalino.. Make sure he gives you 9/7. your family is in my prayers.....................mike

Very impressive poster. Gotta love a guy who took the crap you guys dish out and still was willing to share the way he did. I'm happy for him that he was able to accomplish so much with his life and have as much fun as he did doing it. Three cheers for Tom Ferry!

Rest in Peace, Tom....

Tom was a regular at Cue & Cushion Billiards for many years. His love of the game, the hustle, the characters, and the history of pool will sorely be missed. He was a great competitor and storyteller. Everyone at Cue & Cushion wants to send Tom's family our condolences. He will be missed for years to come. :(

RIP Tom. May the heavenly toilets clean your feet like never before !

sorry to hear this, I'm just stunned. Tom was a regular at the Break in cahokia and always talked about good eating spots lol. He really liked terry's steaks at his tournaments.

Happy Trails OHB. I enjoyed reading your posts. God bless to you and your family.

Tom Ferry (Old Has Been) never denied being a pool hustler. In fact, he told everyone. It wasn’t his fault if they refused to believe him. Tom left this earth at 5:30 this morning, leaving his wife, Rita, his son Tommy (21) and daughter Katie (19).

Tom was the MO state nine ball champion twice yet one pocket was his game of choice. Tom related some wonderful road stories on this site and others. Tom was my friend. I will miss him.

As some of you know , I monitored the AZ room at DCC for 5 days this year and meeting Tom was one of my highlights while there , He stood by me and helped me by watching the room when I needed a relief and we shared a few stories ,One of them was his faith in Buddy Hall and his abilities on a pool table . The man was a gentle giant and a complete gentleman the whole time I was there and I valued his counsel . The pool world is now diminished by his passing and I for one will miss him and his postings !

Godspeed OHB , I can hear the big table in the sky calling you for the next match ........

I've never met the guy but my stomach just dropped when I read this.
If anyone knows his family please pass along my condolences.
