My sense of reality is this, Watchez. When a forum member continues to ridicule a pool player, one who has friends on this forum, only to antagonize and cause consternation, I'm going to express my opinion, just like you have.

It is unfortunate that some members of this forum have been banned multiple times under multiple identities. Maybe this forum is not society, but this forum has rules, like society has laws.

No problem in expressing your opinion - just thought your defense was rather weak and misguided.

Plenty of things are ridiiculed on forums. The President of the United States is ridiculed on forums. But if I was going to defend the actions of the President I wouldn't compare it to someone being banned from an internet forum.

I like Tony and wish him the best.

Uh, it was actually a great analogy, IMO, but you are entitled to yours! :grin-square:

Thankfully, the majority of this forum's members think like you do.

as far as I know

perhaps, but it just emphasizes why he should take his job and life more serious. I guess I'm the only one that thinks Tony shouldn't get a free pass on dealing drugs and then acting so irresponsible when he should be trying to do everything possible to turn his life around before he goes to prison.

Hell, cut his ankle bracelet off and let him go.

no one has been convicted of anything yet.

welll

Only because it is a realistic one.

Again - you are saying people in glass houses shouldn't throw bricks. Are you trying to infer that Corvette being banned from an internet forum holds the same weight as someone accused of selling 61 pounds of marijuana? If so, then you truly have no sense of reality.

hell, is that all it is? 61 pounds of pot? Doesn't that qualify as personal use?

you are correct, it was conjecture on my part and I appologize. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Putting the drug thing aside. How do you feel about a professional pool player with a family forfeiting a match when the tourney pays $15K for first place and you've already spent money in expenses getting there and lost a substancial sum gambling?

Irresponsible. Same as me taking a sick day from work to stay home and play FTOPs events at Full Tilt Poker.

No Kidding! Seems like some folks have already found him guilty and think he should just skip the trial and go straight to jail. I'm amazed at how much joy some people find in pointing out others mistakes and problems. Personally, I don't think I'm in a position to judge ANYONE! and I try not to. Was it dumb? no question about it. Is he guilty? not yet anyway!

and "Professional" or not, if the man want's to forfeit and it's his money on the line, I say let him. It's certainly not my money so why should I or anyone else care? If you bought him in the player auction or paid his entry fees I could understand, but if not, I don't think it's really any of our business what he does or doesn't do. IMO

don't mean to be an ass, I'm just tired of people that think Tony somehow owes them an apology or explanation

LOL...come on man. You don't want to start waving that stick around. There won't be many left standing.

It must be a Monday thing around here.

This has been done to death and for whatever reason you have picked Tony out of all the guys out there to focus on. Which is fine I guess but it does look a little stalkerish. For all you know he could of snapped off someone else for that $15,000 or made a score in a poker game or turned into a pumpkin. You and no one else here as of yet knows.

No one here knows for sure what is going on with Tony or his case or his life. But alas I realize that this is the internet and all logic is left at the door. So rock on.

<------did not say a "case of the Monday's"

hence my original question where I asked if anyone could shed some light on the situation and if the info. I got was correct. More power to him if he snapped off something else for 15K or if he doesn't need an additional 15K.

I guess whenever I have a good week or month at work I should just say f@#k it and not show up for the next day.

Also, I did not intentionaly PICK Tony out of all the guys out there. He forfeited the match, nobody else. It's kind of like when Earl rakes the balls and basically forfeits matches and people start thread about it because it's childish.

As for my lingering despise of Tony's indescressions, I didin't single him out because of anything except the fact that he was the one peddling 61 POUNDS of illegal drugs.

You are probably right though, I'm the bad guy in all this. I mean, I go to work everyday and DON'T peddle 61 pounds of illegal drugs.

you SERIOUSLY need a hobby... You've been ragging on Tony for months but always excuse it by saying things like "You are probably right though, I'm the bad guy in all this. I mean, I go to work everyday and DON'T peddle 61 pounds of illegal drugs. " The dude messed up... we get it! :D

yeah, I always say that. FREE TONY!

not that it makes any difference

but I am about convinced there is a little personal animosity here. You are almost at the "Give the guilty bastard a fair trial and then hang him" stage.

I read in the action room that Tony and Billy had a long, tight match. That it had been paused, and resumed at 7am the next morning. That Tony eventually lost and did not make his 10am match time on the winners side. If that's correct, Tony is still in the one hole tourney.

Outside of that, wtf does anyone know? Perhaps he had a backer that for whatever reason required Tony to keep playing and therby forfeit his 10 am match. Maybe that was more important? Comeon guys, do the math. Are you taking a 50-50 shot at $10k, or a 1 in 20 at $15k?

Perhaps a couple hundred other reasons exist why he didn't make it. We all know late running action matches often get the better of a tourney time.

I think the question "does anyone know why Tony didn't make his 10 am match?" should be asked before criticisms are leveled.

KK9 <- slow at drawing conclusions

doesn't matter why he didn't make the match. Who cares? Free Tony!

I am done trying to make a point to you about this. We have talked about it and I respect that for whatever reason you have a special hard on for Tony. No big deal. You dont know him and probably don't care to and I know for a fact he could give a sh!t less what some people on the internet think of him. So in the end it is all noise.

Free Tony or Fry Tony take your pick as either opinion is the same as a mouse fart in a wind storm.

I agree. In the end what happens is really irrelevant.
