Top 10 Most Knowledgable Posters

no one's mentioned tate, jimbo, or the guys at cue addicts? Maybe it's because i hang around the wanted/for sale forum more often but here's my top ten.....Not to exclude anyone, but these are those that are fresh on my mind in no particular order....

FASTNLOOSE
BOGEY54311
TATE
JIMBO
CUEADDICTS
CORNERSTONE
MURRAY TUCKER
COSMOCUES
THE DIAMOND
DJKEYS

And a bunch of others. I can think of more but don't have enough room. I like everything these guys have to say. I learn something new everytime I see one of these guys post.

I do not think that anyone is afraid to go out on a limb.... I am inclined to believe that everyone who posts here is important, and that know ones idea's are trivial or worthless.
CRAIG

C-man,
Well, I guess we'll have to disagree - I don't see anyone else out on the limb.

As for the notion that no one's ideas are trivial or worthless, I can just say "stick around long enough and you'll see a few - the trolls continually resurface."

I will DEFINITELY agree with you if you will amend your statement to, "almost everyone who posts here has worthwhile input."

Signed,
Pollyanna died a horrible death

I like the guys that start the interesting threads...guys like BillyBob, Dr Cues Protege, etc.(can't think of any other specific posters at the moment) These posts really get others involved and the answers to their inquiries help me to think straighter and act more effectively.

So, it's not just the most knowledgable posters that I like; it's the ones that get 'em posting in the first place.

And without AZ. we'd all be sol, so thanks, Mike, for starting and running this thing,

fwiw,

Jeff Livingston

Jay Helfert
SJM
Fred Agnir (Cornerman)
Bob Jewett
Scott Lee
Joe Tucker
Danny Harriman
Bill Porter
Tom Ferry (RIP)
CeeBee (Charley Bond)

(My all-time favorite poster in billiard forum history is the late Jim Meador - When it comes to pool players, they just don't make them like Jim anymore :) www.billiardworld.com )

I think any list like this could be broken down further into the various categories as some frequent or two areas of the site more than others. For example, if you hang out in Cue Gallery or Wanted/For Sale, you'll see a lot of knowledgeable posts from cueaddicts, classiccues, JimBo, FAST-N-LOOSE, Tate, Bogey5431, Cornerman, bushwhacker, Cosmocues, bruin70 and a few other extremely notables.

If you venture over to Main Forum, there's Grady, TheOne, sjm, Cornerman (again), Steve Lipsky, Jay Helfert, Colin Colenso, Bill Porter, Blackjack, Nostroke.

I spend a lot of time in Non-Pool Related as well and some of the familiar (and knowledgeable) faces there will vary with topic. But the posts I'll always read are by Chris, hondo, hippiepool, Eydie Romano, Timberly, Secaucus Fats, and a few others.

Do not forget Danny Harriman, Cardiac Kid and of course Poolshark52,

Each one of the players know quite a bit as well as are well over the 100 club in 14.1

So far as who has helped me, I would say *everyone* who has contributed to the various posts. And especially those who say things others disagree with! (Then there is a flood of discussion which follows.)

I know I sure am playing a lot better because of stuff I have learned on the internet. (Thank you everybody!)

Some of the best stuff I have learned is from beginners or intermediate players. And I think this is because they have just learned this stuff themselves and how they learned it is fresh in their minds. I think after someone has been playing for 20 years, they forget how they learned how to do something.

Also some of the better players are not willing to share tips with others as is mentioned in the book "Banking with the Beard".

Just wanted to say thanks to all who mentioned me. I feel like I'm in pretty good company here. I enjoy posting on AZ because I'm continually amazed by the level of knowledge represented here. I often feel like these are my contemporaries and my peers.

Obviously, many of us have devoted a great part of our lives to this game. I enjoy having the opportunity to share some of what I've learned over the years, with a receptive group of like minded people. If something I say here enlightens one person, than it's worth it to me.

After 40+ years involved with pool, I feel a responsibility to speak up, whether it be to acknowledge someone or something, or to be a dissenter for something I disagree with.

Thanks to anyone who spoke kindly of me.

The truth is, who's the best is entirely about subject matter.

For example, I like to think I'm one of the more knowledgeable posters when it comes to pool history and nostalgia, but one of the least knowledgeable when it comes to pool playing equipment.

The beauty of this forum is that each thread can have an entirely different group of "most knowledgeable posters."

I admire all the posters on this forum for the knowledge they bring to this forum and the openness with which they share that knowledge.

Too bad Bobaloo doesn't post, eh Rude Dog?
Could you imagine him trying to give some sort of instruction? "Well, what I would do is, Eeere, Olld dis, yeah, go ahead, take a hit. Okay, where was I? Oh yea, the 4 railer is really the only shot you can play here because there's at least 25 people sitting up there in the bleachers and if you stop the CB right there they're gonna think you're not a player, ya know what I mean?" "My hit already?"

I would say (Not necessarily in this order)

Grady
Freddy The Beard
Blackjack
Scott Lee
Colin
CornerMan
Drivermaker
SJM
TheOne
Bob Jewett

I like your choices for the most part,as everyone of the afformentioned are definitley worthy in some respect.I would include Joe Tucker(Racking Secrets) and Randy G for instructors. I would add Hal Houle for aiming systems and Deadaim for his most awesome kicking systems. I would also add Jay Helfert for his historical perspective and his knowledge of the game in general. Also Mike Page seems to have a lot of knowledge and Cee Bee on the break shot.

There are also a bunch of us who can't play top notch, however have read all the books and seen all the videos and have a wealth of information stored up in our own personal harddrives.I've learned a ton of great stuff off of everyday players.I think the only ones who can't benefit are the close-minded ,"Know-it-all" types who I have run into and are seemingly unteachable.

Years ago there were many pool secrets that were seldom shared.Today if you go digging(Videos, books, instructors, forums, internet, other players etc.)hard enough($$$) you will find that almost every bit of knowledge has now been exposed.

The game is much bigger than all of the afformentioned, as you can never stop learning (about this game) IF, you are teachable.
