Top 3 best playing cues you have played.

Old, like late 80's early 90's Jerry Franklin, plain jane SW's. I don't know why, but I've played with 4 of them and they're the best Southwests I ever hit with.

Thanks

I had a Jerry Southwest that I liked more than the newer Southwest. I liked it more than the later model Sw's. Very good feel, but not in my top 3. Top ten maybe.

Best Playing, Best Looking, Best Yady Yady Yady.....

The best three cues I own are:

1/ Paul Mottey (Sgn/Dtd 10-'91) 8 Ebony Pts (60 ivory inlays in foreram & butt sleeve) 3/8x16 Piloted Ivory Joint, Original Cortland Linen Wrap, 3 Orig. Shafts w/ Ivory Ferrules, 18.5 ozs. I recently misquoted in another post the number of inlays....(actual ct is 60).

2. Tim Scruggs (05-'06) 4 Ebony Pts w/ Blk, Grn, Purple, Green Veneers (20 inlays ivory/abalone) 3/8x10 Flat Faced Ivory Joint, Cortland Linen Wrap, 2 Original Shafts w/ Ivory Ferrules 18.2 ozs.

3. A True Custom Designed Schon Runde (09-'84) 4 Ebony Pts w/ Blk & Red Veneers with 4 Jumbo Size Ivory Spears & 6 Jumbo Size Ivory Bars surrounded by Red Veneer Windows in the Ebony Butt Sleeve and 15 Maple Stitch Bars (total 30) directly above and below the Irish Linen wrap ...... Has 3 Orig. Shafts (not 1) w/ Micarta Ferrules & 5/16 x14 SS joint......20.4 ozs. & Irish Linen wrap.

These are my Players and a prouder parent there could not be......the cues are ranked in order of overall feel and playability.

Most persons would be fortunate just to own just 1 of these cues, and so owning 2 of these cues is too much to hope for. And amazingly, I've been blessed by the Pool Gods to own all 3 of these really incredible cues.

Do you play a Lake wood shaft in your Diveney?
I had a Diveney non Lake wood that was almost as nice, but the Lake wood felt just a tad more solid and stiff. I A/B'd theM a few times to make sure. I even swapped shafts between my Blue Grass Hustlers and my Diveney in all possible combinations. Both Diveney shafts felt best on the Diveney and both Blue Grass shafts felt best on the butts they originally came with, which didn't surprise me, but I thought it was an interesting test session.

Never tried the lakewood, but I would like to.

I actually have an ivory James White shaft that I really like...great hit and ferrule is a tad smaller than the OEMs, but Pat's shafts are top-notch too.
