Tournaments for oldies?

Ever since Steve Mizerak's passing, I have not seen any big seniors tournaments promoted. Come to think about it, I have only seen a handful of small tourneys, usually a spinoff from the main tournament. Are there any good tournaments for seniors these days?

The BCAPL Seniors in May is about the biggest one currently.
 
Some seniors do not travel and grind it out like they used to. ;)

I wish there was one in my neighborhood. Like at the casino up the road. Utoh Prolly get a TD pissed now !

Every senior tournament I ever tried to play in they told me I couldn't play. They should put an note on these tournament. That you have to be over fifty and considered helpless.

In fact if Efren wanted to play in a seniors tournament it would be so much more fun for everyone.

Maybe this is a good way to do it but it seems to me over 50 is over 50. Not to look at you and say: You got to be kidding. You got to play with the masters or top division.

To me this really doesn't matter but I just wonder how many of the older players that would play in some of these but get turned away.

If it's OK to have tournaments for different skill levels -- e.g., Open, A, B, C -- without regard to age, then shouldn't it also be OK (if some promoter or director chose to do it) to have tournaments just for seniors at different skill levels?
 
Ya. I'd like to see some tourney's limited by age. Change of pace. Something different.
 
Florida would be a great place for senior tournaments. Hell, half of us are older than dirt down here. We spend money too. Johnnyt
