Travel Time and Distance to Your Pool Hall

I live 8 miles from a bowling alley that has two 4x8 tables in good condition. However, there's virtually no one available that's up for a good challenge match. I shoot against the ghost virtually every day of the year.

52 miles away (1 h 15 min) is Hard Times Billiards of Sacramento, a pool hall with many good players.

I'm trying to decide if the 104 mile round trip per day is worth the time and expense.

It's hard to place a price on quality.

So, fellow AZBers, how far away are you from your pool hall of choice?

Thanks,

John:)

2-3 miles , less than 10 minutes. Alternate club or bars within 10 mins.

I would make it a weekly trip to Hard Times if I were you, and do lunch or dinner while you are there.

I don't have the time to much during the summer, and most of the locals are doing other things like golf, fishing or traveling/ vacations.

8 miles, or about 18 minutes. It's the closest real place for me to play and the only place within 50 miles or so that has multiple 9' tables.

In your situation is probably make it a weekly trip.

I'm a less than five minute drive from a kind of crappy room and tons of bars, and the room i like to play in is about a 15 minute drive away with no traffic.

I drive about 35 minutes each way (about 35 miles) 3x a week to play (two weeknights and one weekend long afternoon usually) -- and then once a month or so I drive an extra hour so on the weekend to a bigger room that has more competition -- and One Pocket :)

When I stay at my Gold Rush Country home it is 20 miles to Diamond,
25 miles to Hard Times, and 35 miles to The Jointed Cue.

From my Ranch near Lake Mead it is 65 miles to Las Vegas Cue Club.

From my Home in Hillsborough (SF Bay Area) it is 20 to 40 miles for Pool.

All the Gas Station Owners just Love Me.

About 15 to 18 minutes to any of four rooms closest to me. About a 50 mile round trip to the bar where I play league.

About 5-7 miles from the closest room, so 15 minutes or so with traffic. 15-20 miles across town for the nicest room, but its 35-45 minutes with traffic.

When I first read the title of the thread, I read it as time travel to your pool hall..... I was like crap, I havent finished my flux capacitor yet.......

I am about ten minutes from my closest real poolroom, across the street there is a bar that has a handful of bar tables and a couple crappy 9 footers. I have about 6 or so real pool rooms within 35 minutes of me.

For me it's about 20 min now that i play at Stix in Villa Rica, GA. it use to be 45 min drive to MCB (Marietta Billiard Club)

I don't think I would make a trip like that everyday. Maybe once or twice a week. That is why so many of us have home tables. I like the idea of not having to practice in a public place. When I go out it is usually to play.

On week days, I normally play at the senior center about 25 mile round trip (40-45 min)
One 9', two 8' tables.
I'm usually the 2nd or 3rd best but there are 4 or 5 others close to my speed.
I plan to be the best by September :)

On some weekends, I go to at Hard Times about 10 miles round trip but mostly practice by my self because 1P is the game of choice and I'm mostly 8 ball :)
When I'm best at the senior center 8 ball, I'll start learning 1P :)

Lol

185 miles one way is the nearest pool hall..........................Reno

There ONE bar that has ONE 9 footer that the owner *****es at me for using chalk on my tip
He says that I need to bang the side of the shaft on the legs of the table to knock off the excess chalk like he does.

If you look at his cue the shaft is covered with dents .

In IL less then a mile to the recently opened room in our town, 8 9' Diamonds. In AZ about
4 miles to the room I play in, 4 9' Olhausens and a 10' Olhausen snooker table. I also have the choice of two other rooms in AZ within a few miles. If I go to Pockets in Tucson it's about 25 miles. All in all not a bad situation.
