TV Balls, I Love 'em

I'm colorblind. It's a good thing as Martha would say.

The 2-10, 4-12..? I can't tell the difference.

Depending on the balls, age etc...the 3-7 still gives me fits.

And it takes me out of my rhythm, I'm Lazy.. I don't normally need to walk around the table and look at the geometry. That's a part of my game. Play fast... I lose that edge when I have to walk around the table and look for the number on the ball.

I find that I get more confused with the t.v. balls. The 4, 5, and 7 get mixed up. Even the 9 ball blends in. Give me the damn purple 4 ball, that's just me.

The 10 and 12 balls have stripes.

Took a while to get used to them, but it's what we have been using for over three years in our local pool room....still gets me sometimes. The color number thing....

Thats what I was kind of thinking but then again, I'm not color blind, maybe there is something to it that I am not understanding.

I think what Pangit was saying in his "tweet" to AZB ( ) was that he can't tell the difference between the 2/10 pair and the 4/12 pair -- i.e. he can't tell the difference between the blue of the 2/10 and the purple of the 4/12.

In color-blind people, that's common.

Ah, makes sense now. Thanks for the translation Sean!

I'm colorblind and have never been able to follow any video of pool, whether it had regular centennials, aramith, or the tv versions of either ball. It sucks. Regarding the striped balls, I routinely mix up the 9 and the 1 or the cue ball and the 9 ball. The stripe sort of fades away, and I see only half the ball, and mix it up with the other. On a one pocket game, forget about it, I'm completely lost. Especially because the balls are closer together, and there are many more options to choose from. I'm red-green colorblind, I believe that is the most common. (but it affects all the colors, not just red and green, thats just the name its given)

In contrast, live pool I have had much better success with. Maybe its because the balls are much bigger and closer to me, I don't know.

I was only goofin'.:D Funny though, as I was thinking about his color blind issue it got me wondering what game must he be playing that he needs to differentiate between the 2-10 and 4-12. Then I realized they play a lot of Rotation in the PI.

I would love to get a tv set for my basement. There has been countless times where I have shot the 4 ball before I shoot the 2 because I can hardly tell the difference. Most of the time I have to look for the number.

Yep..being color blind,an watching matchs on the tele can be interesting. I can not tell the difference between the 2/4 or the 6/7, an depending on the lighting in the room, the 3/5 can be pretty difficult at times as well...so when it comes to the striped balls I need to see the numbers as well..but I've been this way all my life..my friends get a kick out of it...I'm always walking around checking the numbers before I start my run..my yards not green..its orange...lol
