I was just wondering what TV shows and movies that I had missed that had something to do with pool. I have seen :
The Baron and the Kid (movie)
Kiss Shot (movie)
Chalk (movie)
Baltimore Bullet (movie)
Pool Hall Junkies (movie)
The Hustler (movie)
The Color of Money (movie)

I hear that there is a Twilight Zone episode that is about pool. I have also seen an episode of Sanford and Son that was about pool. How many have I missed?

one more, I know of ...

Ran across one on the internet, called 'Behind the 9Ball',
released in 2004. That's all I know about it.

Aren't you watching Ball-Bangers or whatever it's called every Monday night at 10:00 p.m. Eastern on GSN?

Twilight episode is calld "A game of pool". I found it entertaining.

Would love to see that Sanford and Sons episode that is about pool. Anyone have this?

I also heard there was a Brady Bunch episode that had pool in it.

Theres a classic Seinfeld episode where Mr. Constanza puts a pool table in George's old room and it barly fits. Kramer uses the Meastro's wand as a pool stick. Pretty funny episode.

Seinfeld had an episode where George's father turned George's bedroom into a pool table room. There wasn't enough space around the table and it led to much hilariosityness. And a broken window. A fine time was had by all, but not George's Mom.

No. I tried it a couple of times and just did not like it. Does it even still come on?

It was on last night with celebrities. Lou Diamand Phillips, Tia Carrera, Cameron Manheim, Eric Roberts, all ball bangers. I don't think Eric Roberts played one shot that didn't get hit at over 100 mph.

I got sattelite TV just so I could get the channel so I could watch it but gave up on it after 3 episodes.

We need real pool tv shows like the "twenty ten" straight pool game show they use to have. That was entertaining and the people could actually shoot.
Stars like Jimmy Moore and Crane. Now thats a pool tv show!

The Twilight Zone episode is where a mobster dies, and he thinks he's in Heaven, because everything goes his way. Dice, broads, pool, he can't miss. It gets so boring that he tells his host that he wishes he was in the other place. His host (Satan) replies, "This IS the other place". In the pool scene, he breaks the balls, and they all find holes.

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air had a pool episode. Will "borrows" the Mercedes and takes it downtown to the pool hall, where he gets hustled out of a few hundred. The whole place holds him up for the car as collateral. Will has to call the big guy and tell him to come get him. The big guy shows up with the butler, and he hustles the pool shark on his own turf. Once they get into action, the butler brings out the custom cue and applies powder on the big guy, etc. Funny episode.

Sean Penn, Nicolas Cage, and Elizabeth McGovern starred in a movie in 1984 called "Racing with the Moon," in which there is a pool scene. Sean and Nicolas are desparate for money and decide to gamble playing pool at their local pool room. Lou Butera was the technical advisor and also had a role as one of the pool players.

In addition to playing himself in "The Bullet" in 1980, Lou Butera had a role as a pool player in "Police Academy 6: City Under Siege," filmed in 1989.

.

Thats a different episode from "a game of pool"
A game of pool is actually about pool. 2 players actually play 14.1 against each other.

Jack Klugman and Jonathan Winters.

Yeah the guy from the show, "odd couple" Oscar. Or was it Felix :) I think it was Oscar.(jack klugman)

Didn't Jonathan Winters play Babe ruth in a movie? If he didn't, he should because he looks like him.

Tombstone has a pool scene where one of the Earps gets blown away.

Gunsmoke has many episodes with the pool hall scenes.

A few weeks ago we had a comprehensive thread all about this:

Also a discussion on the Baltimore Bullet:

Another on Stickmen:

This place is like a merry-go-round :p

There've been a couple of episodes on several different sitcoms with the plot being about pool. Some that come to mind are Martin, Married With Children, and of course aside from the actual pool movies, you've had other movies that have scenes of pool in them.

All of the ones that I've mentioned above all had to do with either hustling and/or getting into a fight where a pool cue winds up getting broken over someone's head. Gee, no wonder our sport has a bad rep.

No one mentioned the Episode of "Sex in the City" where Jeanette Lee made her acting debut.

just more hot air!

I don't recall that episode and I'm a die hard SITC fan! Jeanette was also featured in the show that came on after SITC called Arli$$. I think she was playing herself but was the cousin to the secretary on that show.
