Just bought what is supposed to be an "original" tv script from the Twilight Zone episode of the "The Pool Player" with Jack Klugman.

I say supposed to be because I haven't got it yet, so we will see.

I bought a script off ebay for "The Hustler" and it ended up being a photocopy.
I did not pay much for it, and it was an interesting read.

Thanks Jude for the link. I also found this twilight zone episode coupled with
another on ebay and paid I think around eight dollars for it.
It is one of my favorites in my pool video collection.

The only technical errors I could spot is that the Fats Brown character left Heaven
carrying his cue case, yet left his cue on the table, and

the Jack Klugman character was in a lose-lose bet. He already had his life
so he had nothing to gain except maybe bragging rights for beating
a dead legend that would have put him in a mental institution.
 
It was kind of cool seeing Jonathan Winters and Jack Klugman play their parts in this story. Thanks for posting the link.

This was actually posted here before and I believe the original post had a link that didn't split the video up into three parts. Sigh.
 
Each of those two actors handled the cue about as comfortably as they would a king cobra. If the script you mention is a bona fide original, it might be worth a few bucks - more if it was written by Rod Serling himself - but "A Game of Pool" is easily (IMO) one of the worst episodes Twilight Zone ever ran. GF
 
George...While what you say may be true, it was one of the very few times in his career, that Jonathan Winters played a straight role. He was, without a doubt, one of the greatest comedians of his era, and it was rare to see him in anything other than comedy.

Maybe not.. he could have been playing with a house cue, lots of hustlers (at least in the movies) keep the stick in the case until they get a game.
 
Just got the script and it is "original"

You can tell a couple of ways

It smells old :) and looks old

And the other way is the ending is the "original" ending, not the one that ended up on tv....

In this script Jessie misses the last shot and Fats wins........

I will try to do a scan of the last page later and post it.

This is pretty neat. :) :)

No way, Fats wins? Jessie was a loser even in the script from TV. He was bitter and jealous of Fat's success and reputation. He coveted.
Thanks for the heads-up about the original ending.
