Twist Banking Tutorial Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8R5MnYBphV8

Previously, I did a little Bankin Demonstration about twisting banks. It got a good response but many of the replies basically said "Those shots are great, but how are you doing that?"

I'm not a bank pool champion. To be honest, I think these shots are very hard. Maybe even the best find them difficult. I don't know.

All I can do is show you what I did to get some grasp of the shots.

In this video, I discuss this common one-pocket shot. I discuss the english I used and shoot a few for demonstration.

Hopefully with some practice, you can start making these yourself.

I think your voice is echoing. Very hard to listen to.

I've watched this video on two different computers. It sounded fine.

I have a bit of a southern accent but you should be able to make out what I am saying, I hope. :)

Let me know if anyone else is having issues with the sound on this video.

OK here. Nice tutorial.

Good job & good advice. You can save a lot of people a lot of time just by telling them to add that "just a touch" of inside on that shot. When I tried to learn it I was over spinning my cue ball and then told the lessor player WHO WAS MAKING IT to shoot it again and I notice how little inside he was applying and then I got it.

Nice job; very relaxed and natural.

One comment: you say this is a one pocket shot but you shoot it pretty hard, much harder than you normally would in a one pocket game where you usually want to leave the ball by your pocket if you miss. The shot works just as well (maybe better) when hit at pocket speed - I think you might have better luck with the no-spin version that way too.

I understood everything he said. Then again, I am from Texas, so I'm accustomed to the southern accent.

Buy the DVD

"I don't need no stinkin' english!" Those of you who have my DVD, Banks That Don't Go - But Do, know that the six or seven similar shots I shoot on it are all made with NO english. Notice that there is no comment by anybody who has seen the DVD, they want to keep that info all to themselves.

I agree with Scott & Freddie. No English works just as good or maybe better....SPF=randyg

Like I said in the post, I'm no bank pool champion. There's a whole library worth of information that I don't know about banking.

I was interested in releasing the first video (http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=121427). Trying to teach others to do this was never my plan. I just got so many responses asking how. I figured I would give it my best to answer those questions.

No offense, but one of you guys do a video and release it for free. Honestly, I can make that shot with no english. I was just so incredibly nervous in front that camera, I just couldn't get it to go. I had done a few takes it just wasn't going.

It's the best I've got :)

It depends on the lie of the CB. If there isn't enough cut angle to transfer the sidespin you need to the OB, then you need to use sidespin on the CB. With sidespin on the CB you can make the shot even with the CB starting out closer to the long rail than the OB (crossing the OB the other way).

They can make that shot with no english, but they can't make a cue! LOL

Haha, there is a reason I build cues for a living, I promise. I'm no champ. :)

I mentioned the shot in the video because I know some one better than me surely can shoot that shot with consistency. I just can't.

It's a shame you release something for FREE and people still find a reason to nit pick, haha! I'm accustomed to it in the cue business but we get $1000 for those things. I'd be picky too!

I guess I might need to grow some thicker skin if I plan on releasing more videos (and I do).

The angle within reason, I can make that shot with no juice also. Just ask Eddie Taylor, like I did.

Not picking on you, Matta, just providing some insights.

Some of you heavy hitters are expecting Matta to fade some rough, critical posts.Esp when you consider he was just offering his thoughts and opinions on a tough 1hole shot.I don't know him from adam, but dam,I would hate this thread if I started it.

I liked the vid and the sound was fine for me.

Matta, keep it up.As Yoda would say,"Fade you must, learn by teaching".
