Hello All :)

We've received numberous calls and emails in the past 24 hours and truly appreciate each person's interest in the U.S. Open 10-Ball Championship. As of yesterday morning we now have a full field. There is an alternate list being generated and will notify players on the alternate list should openings arise.

Wow:eek:

what a great field - so looking forward to watching some of the top players in the world.

posting money for payouts

About 4 years ago i tried to get some discussions going on posting the prize money so players would be protected. It never got anywhere. Here is the link: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=48011

There are a lot more obstacles then first appear - and it may not be really feasible - but it is odd how the same topics keep coming back to haunt everyone.

We do need to protect the players.

By the way, once again, the BCAPL (and all the CSI entities involved) will be paying out between $800,000 and $850,000 in May. All by check - which can be cashed at the host hotel (Riviera Hotel & Casino).

Sometimes cash is not the desired method - so we provide both options.

This is known as the "Greatest Pool Tournament in the World" - and this year is a barn burner. (Where did that term come from???)

Joey - I'm sure that Jeff is gonna like what you posted when he sees it. He's really looking forward to this opportunity to measure himself against some of the best in the world.

I'll share it with him tomorrow afternoon, as he'll be coming to my place to practice some 10-ball on my Pro Am.

Take care, brother.

Mark,
You are always championing the interests of the players even if they don't express it themselves.

You are always stepping up to the plate with money, tournament promotion, league play and even player promotion.

The BCA Pool League is bringing new players to our sport and it continues to grow under your leadership. There are a lot of happy league players in the BCAPL thanks to your stewardship.

You are always testing new ideas to improve the "pool world", sometimes at great financial risk to yourself.

Somehow, you always manage to do the right thing, no matter what personal cost that there is to your own wallet.

There aren't enough good things that can be said about you and what you do and what you have done for pool.

You're far too modest about your contributions to pool and in my opinion, you seldom ever get the full credit that you so richly deserve.

I like the way you represent the sport of pool and wish you even greater success but more importantly I like you as a human being and wish you great happiness now and in the years to come.

Best Regards,
JoeyA

Question for Holly on a different note?

I've heard from someone who heard from his neighbor's brother's cousin that you were going to have the bracket info for the BCAPL on your website prior to the tourney. As I'm not arriving in Vegas until late the night before, I just wanted to see if this was accurate because that would be very useful info on the playing times.

Thanks Joey...

Yes, I'll be there to represent the "League Players, Amateurs, and the Working Man..."

And as you say...I plan on not missing any balls and more importantly, first and formost..."Taking care of Whitey....."

Good luck to all..

Mr. J.
