U.S. Open Checks Bounced???

azbfan...A "zillion" posts huh?...links please, or you're just shootin' your mouth off. Like I said, SHOW ME where I have disrespected pro players, regarding their efforts to make a living (other than the recent stuff with CJ). I'm waiting...should be easy to find, if there's a zillion! LOL

Trust me i have my story straight.
I have read a zillion posts by you and many times you take cheapshots at pro's.
Some of the things you have said on here i'll bet alot you would not say to their face.
I'm not saying you are a bad guy but don't be two faced please.
If you can't say something nice about the pro's don't say anything is my motto.
I think they have earned that and so have you.

If I was you I wouldn't spend time responding to me.
I would be sending CJ a pm asking him not to *****slap you then give the 6 out and rob you the next time you guys meet.

I live in ny and since you mention how tough it is to make money on the road ,iv'e talked to some local female league players that would like to play you for 500 a set the next time you're around.
Should be easy money for such a great teacher entertainer such as yourself. They tell me they would rob you.

When all the smoke clears guys like CJ are talented,,respected, great players and you are a average joe.
Doesn't make you a bad guy but when you badmouth the stars of this industry it makes you look like a jealous old fool.
The more I think about it I think I will just play you myself but you dont make enough money to be worth my time.
Now you see it's no fun when someone belittles you is it.

Guys, guys ...the global economy is collapsing. Pool players aren't being paid.

Rather than bickering among yourselves, go punch a banker or a government minister.

Just saying.

broke pro golfers?

I met a guy who was teaching golf here in Korea and he used to be "on the bag" for a number of pros. He was telling me all he wanted was to get a tour card and he would be "set" as he put it. Pretty much what Scott said, if you are on the tour your living pretty well compared to the average American.

Hardly "Broke".

After talking with him all I could think of was how shitty it would be to be a pro pool player comparatively.

Scott, this is the best advice he has given so far. Getting upset over what some alias account with 17 posts has to troll about is a waste of your time, as he has admitted. :)

What tornament is this that you speak of that has thousands of players?

If you eliminate the added money and had a prize fund of $110,000 this year, 1 thru 6 got paid $64,000. You think the other 204 people would have showed to get a shot at the remaining $46,000. $1,000 each only another 52 get paid. I think this is the biggest problem for Barry B. Less people show, less people for the vendors, food and beverage. I hope Barry B. and Charlie Williams hit powerball and mega millions at the same time with the same numbers. This seems like the only solution to having a decent pay structure at the US Open.

Dont you have a bridge to get back to ?

As opposed to a billiard streaming network of some kind?

Exactly! 1 stop shop = 1 stop for sponsors, big and small. Pretty simple indeed. Everyone wins. Beats letting YouTube and Ustream make all the advertising revenue. Is Ustream or YouTube writing us checks? NOPE!

Actually YouTube does write checks.

Do you?

Bring back the IPT...even if cats weren't getting paid at least the pool world was a little more carefree

Kevin Trudeau knew how to make events special.

The promoters nowadays seem like garage operations. Next thing you know they will be using their own children to run the event.

What can advertising be written off of?

just like Seinfeld showed-people have no knowledge of what a write off is so here is an example.

You throw 30 million into pool, it goes down the drain- you write it off-now you dont have to pay taxes on that 30 miillion. "write-off' just means you take a legal tax deduction.. Lets say the tax would be 10 million.- u dont pay it so now you have only lost 20 MILLION!!! Some way to make a living huh?

You dont make money or even break even by 'writing off' you just better your shitty position slightly.

Kevin only knew how to make tournaments special as a diversion to make his shell company look legit as he laundered about 8 figures a year through it, based on the latest FCC lawsuit. Read the court docs.

How do you launder money through a non cash business-hell a non income business practically?

Events that Kevin did pay out are much larger than winning the US Open three times.

The World 8-ball event, King of the Hill, IPT North American Open, and IPT World Open (though payments were delayed).

Some players were paid just to show up. When you think big, that is where the money is. The problem with pool organizers are they think small.

I think Barry's crime is wishful thinking. Each year, especially in the later years, he hopes it will all turn out well in the end. His formula of relying on the gate to make up any deficit doesn't work anymore. The deficit is too big.

I've seen him at past BCA trade shows going from booth to booth trying to raise money for the event. It's a grueling and frustrating job. For whatever reasons, the industry isn't forthcoming with enough to carry the event.

Lowering the prize fund is a double-edged sword for him. Less overseas players, smaller event, non-sanctioned. He's been trying to avoid that. So he presses on and hopes for the best.

But I think he needs to consider downsizing the event and forget about luring overseas players and sanctioning. Hoping for the best just isn't working out.

Well said, and I agree. :)
